    48. Fees and other charges- (1) The following fee shall be payable for the issue, renewal andvalidation of licences and ratings or the issue of duplicate licences and for the tests andexaminations for such licences and ratings:-

    (i) for tests and examinations : Rs. 500/for licences and ratings per paper

    (ii) for issue or validation of a : Rs. 1,000/licence or rating for StudentPilots Licence and GliderPilots Licence

    (iii) for renewal of a licence or : Rs. 500/rating for Student PilotsLicence and Glider PilotsLicence

    (iv) for issue or validation of a : Rs. 5,000/

    licence or rating other thanStudent Pilots Licenceand Glider Pilots Licence

    (v) for renewal of a licence or : Rs. 2,500/rating other than StudentPilots Licence and GliderPilots Licence

    (vi) for issue of duplicate Student : Rs. 250/Pilots Licence and Glider Pilots

    Licence

    (vii) for issue of duplicate licence : Rs. 500/or rating other than Student PilotsLicence and Glider Pilot Licence

    (viii) for issue of duplicate result sheet : Rs. 500/of examination

    (2) For all flying tests, the candidate shall be required to provide the aircraft and bear all chargesin respect of the flight, and if a Government Examiner is carried on board during the flying test,

    the following fee shall be payable to the Central Government, namely:

    (i) for a single-engine aircraft : Rs. 5,000/

    (ii) for a multi-engine aircraft with : Rs.10,000/maximum permissible take-offweight below 5,700 kilograms

    (iii) for a multi-engine aircraft with : Rs. 50,000/maximum permissible take-offweight of 5,700 kilograms andabove upto 50,000 kilograms

    (iv) for a multiengine aircraft with : Rs.1,00,000/

    maximum permissible take-offweight above 50,000 kilograms

    (2A) The fee shall be paid by crossed Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft drawn infavour of the Pay and Accounts Office, Director General of Civil Aviation,Ministry of Civil Aviation, New Delhi.

    (3) The fees for the medical examinations conducted by the official Medical Board shallbe paid in the manner as prescribed and notified by the Director- General.

    (4) Every application for technical examination or the issue, validation, renewal or re-validation of licences and ratings or the issue of duplicate licence and ratings shall be

    paid in the manner prescribed and notified by the Director-General.

    (5) When in any case the licence or rating is not issued, validated, renewed or re-validated or a duplicate licence or rating is not issued, the Central Government may orderthe refund to the applicant of a proportionate part of the sum paid as fees.
