Welcome to FLP – an independent family owned company who have been designing, manufacturing and installing play solutions for 22 years.

Whilst designs and products have changed, our company goal has always remained the same:

‘To offer a wide range of low maintenance quality products built from sustainable sources’

All of our equipment is manufactured using local skills to the demanding standards of EN1176. We continue to work with our customers and external partners to develop and improve our products to meet the ever changing market needs.

Our in house design team are always on hand to enhance existing areas by adding play value or providing innovative state of the art new developments.

We have developed SAFALOG®, a high quality, natural, recyclable, split resistant timber solution for environmentally sensitive areas.

SAFALOG® is pressure treated using an arsenic chromium free preservative to provide a long maintenance free life whilst providing modular products which blend in with natural surroundings. All of our products are pressure treated in house to BS8417.

Our play towers combine physical changes with adventure. Exciting slides, high and low towers, activity panels and challenging climbing walls.

We provide over 40 units of trim trail which can be used to form your own low or high level course. Alternatively choose from one of our Quality value packages.

We can provide solutions for ball courts, goals targets and all thermoplastic markings. FLP Sports can also supply all your sports equipment needs from balls, rackets to early play packages.

Firside Junior SchoolWorking in conjunction with Norse Facility Management and Firside Junior School, FLP were tasked with providing a new Trim Trail, which could be used all year round and products which linked in with their Eco-school status.

The school selected Fenland Leisure Products, who designed and installed a fun Trim Trail to encourage both physical development and team building skills, through the interesting challenge which has been provided within the trail.

To enable the equipment to be accessed all year round, we installed our rubber Fibrefall which provided a continuous safety surface laid directly onto grass, reducing non-essential engineered base work.

FLP welcomed Firside Junior School to our head office with the aim of providing an insight into how their new Trim Trail had been designed and manufactured after the installation. Their visit consisted of a guided tour around the offices and manufacturing facilities including a demonstration on the CNC where a personalised plaque was made for them, and afternoon activities involving the children designing their own playground equipment.

We pride ourselves in the high quality trim trails that we design and manufacture only from Safalog which has been specifically developed by FLP to provide our customers with an alternative to structures manufactured from roundlog and the associated timber splits.

We offer a selection of combined trails which will challenge children’s balancing, climbing, dexterity and co-ordination skills whilst providing physical challenge.

Bespoke trails can be designed to encompass individual or site requirements, or produced from plans designed by school councils or project teams.

SunsailsProviding shading is simple yet fun with our gigantic sails. The sails are available in either Green, Blue, Red or Cream, pelican mesh material. All sails are supported on Safalog laminated timber posts with stainless steel tensioning mechanisms.We have a range of standard sails available however, we have designed and built sails to 10m x 10m and 10m x 12m. New square sunsails are now available. These are denoted by (S) in the product range.

Outdoor CanopiesOver the last 21 years FLP have designed and installed numerous outdoor shaded canopies within education environments and continue to develop our structures in response to the ever changing demands of teaching and Ofsted. FLP provided The Payne Primary School in Cambridgeshire with a large bespoke shaded canopy and wetpour all weather surfacing. Prior to the completion of this structure the school were unable to utilise a large area of garden within the school grounds. Now reception children can enjoy outdoor play come rain or shine. All our structural canopies components are manufactured from Safalog© which enables FLP to provide clear span canopies of up to 7m.

Outdoor ClassroomsOur outdoor classrooms provide an opportunity for every child to enjoy the learning process in an outdoor environment. Our shelters also provide shelter from the sun, wind and rain. These areas are available in 3, 4, 5 or 6m diameters and can accommodate up to 35 children. All of our classrooms are manufactured from ACQ pressure treated timbers providing years of service without the need for repainting.

Performing or socialising – FLP manufacture many great products to enhance existing meeting areas or to provide new structures to meet friends or perform the latest playground production.

FLP can also provide bespoke design solutions. For years pupils at Chapel Break Infants school in Norwich had been trying to use a natural amphitheatre; however this could only be successfully used in dry conditions and during wet periods the soil would erode and wash onto the playground. After consulting with FLP the school now have a permanent outdoor amphitheatre which can safely be used all year round.

The Pedestrian complete rigid unit has a clear opening width of 1000mm and total width of 1300mm over the posts. easy-gate has two height options to match 1000mm or 1200mm high fencing.

Our fencing is manufactured to the same high standard as our playground equipment. We only use selected high quality pressure treated timbers that are all fully machined with rounded corners. Bespoke engravings can be accommodated if required. Fencing is supplied in 2.400m panels as standard. Our bow topped fencing is manufactured from mild steel and can be supplied in either galvanized or powder coated finish. Optional colours are Green, Red, Blue and Yellow. Our panels are supplied in lengths of 2.75m as standard however custom panels can be made to suit specific requirements.

FIBREFALLOur colour coated mulch produced from recycled tyre rubber gives a natural and stunning eco appearance to safety surfacing.


Our Rubber Fibrefall mulch is a hard wearing, all weather rubber surfacing constructed with resin bonded recycled material, and comply’s with EN1177.

It provides a continuous surface and can be installed onto a wide range of substrates including turf, tarmac and concrete and benefits from requiring minimum baseworks and area preparation.

Rubber Fibrefall surfacing is mixed using a high percentage of resin per Kg of material which provides a wetter mix, this is then roller laid providing a better longer lasting surface than those laid by trowel.

Available in Mahogany Red, Earth Brown and Forest Green.

As an impact absorbing surface the system has been tested and is classified in accordance with

BSEN:1177(2008) for critical fall heights.

WETPOURThis very popular system will provide a continuous surface for play area’s. Surfacing materials are mixed on site and laid wet, enabling the surface to be finished up to any playground equipment. The depth of rubber can be varied to suit the critical fall height of any piece of equipment. Wetpour is available in a range of bright colours though where no colour is stated, black is laid as standard.

FLP offers all customers a bespoke design and build service to provide play solutions for areas where our standard product offering doesn’t suit the installation or where special design features are required to be incorporated within the equipment. We design and install many bespoke projects from small special needs units, access bridges, commercial tree houses for the Scottish forestry commission and assault course units for the M.O.D. The process is explained below and consultations,plan preparations, manufacture and installation can take up to 14 weeks to implement. EnvironmentalSafalog is manufactured from European Redwood sourced only from managed forests. By using timber from managed resources we can be assured that the forest operations are structured and managed so as to be sufficiently profitable, without generating financial profit at the expense of the forest resources, the eco system or affected communities.

The tension between the need to generate adequate financial returns and the principles of responsible forest operations can be reduced through the efforts to market forest products for their best value. Laminated SafalogSafalog is an extra strong, long timber beam manufactured from laminated timber. It is composed of sheets of timber bonded together with weatherproof polyurethane adhesives. As a result of the design, timber selection and manufacturing process Safalog can withstand widely variable climatic changes unlike machine turned round log timbers. Laminated Safalog is a high quality and structurally stable material.

TreatmentLaminated Safalog uses heartwood, which is over 70% of the whole volume of the tree. The heartwood is highly durable which when combined with ACQ (an arsenic and chrome free preservative) provides a timber product which will give long life expectancy with very little maintenance.

RecyclingRecycling is the best way to dispose of any of the product providing it does not place any stress on the environment and should not be more expensive than the new product. At the end of its intended life service all Safalog components can be composted subject to local legislative restrictions.

Safalog Laminated timber sections are produced according to EN386:2001 from European Redwood which produces an extremely smooth, high quality machined finish in 125mm and 112mm square sections. Glued joints produced in Safalog are even stronger than the timber itself. Strict quality control ensures consistency through continual tests during production process.Following the final stage of machining, all timber is pressure treated in accordance with EN 351-1 and EN 335-2 with ACQ treatment process, being Chromium and Arsenic free in accordance with latest EU directive. As a result of widely variable weather conditions, small shakes may appear on the laminated wood however this does not reduce its durability in any way.All pressure treated timber is covered by a 15 year guarantee against structural failure caused by rot or infestation.All nuts and bolts on our products are shielded with nut covers, which protect children against sharp edges and prevent unauthorised persons from attempting to dismantle the products.All nets, bridges and ladders are manufactured in house from vandal resistant multi-filament polypropylene (MFP) steel cored rope. End terminals are hydraulically pressed steel ferrules with stainless steel bolts. Net joints and rope ladder rungs are moulded from heavy-duty solid colour polyethylene.

All fittings are designed with rounded edges and after fabrication the fittings are either hot

dip galvanized or shot blasted, primed with a corrosion inhibiting zinc based epoxy primer in-house and powder coated to give a tough durable finish.All play panels are UV stable and we offer a 5-year guarantee against essential fading. The board is non-toxic and complies with the

requirements of Toy Directive EN71, part 3. HDPE also provides the advantage of requiring

no maintenance and can be recycled.Bolts are manufactured from sheradized, high

tensile steel or stainless steel for high stress applications. All standard nuts and bolts are concealed by our custom made, durable plastic caps. The caps give a tamper resistant and smooth fixing point. Security bolts and heavy-duty security coach screws are from stainless steel.Hand holds, foot rests and connecting brackets are manufactured from nylon. This material is impact-proof in a temperature range from –40°C to +110°C.Anodized aluminium tags with all required information in accordance with EN 1176 are fixed to each piece of equipment before despatch. The product reference and year of supply are pressed into the surface of each tag to ensure the required information is still in place for years to come.A main business principle to which we adhere is the improvement of quality of the living environment. InspectionPost installation inspections of playground equipment are independently inspected by ROSPA if required. We offer operational inspections. All inspections are carried out by engineers who check the entire equipment and playarea environment, submit a written report with any recommendations for remedial work or long term planned maintenance. Spare PartsReplacement parts and accessories are available from our huge stock, which includes protection caps, swing seats, chains, and bushes through to grass mats and wetpour repair kits.
