What is cable wakeboarding? Wakeboarding is the fastest growing sport in the world today and is the water based equivalent of snowboarding.

How does it work? You whizz along the water on a board being pulled by a towrope attached to a cable system.

Who can do it? Anyone can have a go as long as they are a reasonably competent swimmer and are aged 8 or over.

What do I need? All you need to bring is your swimwear and a towel. Our introductory course includes a board, wetsuit, life vest and helmet.

Festival Wakeboard Park is the brand new Cable Wakeboarding facility at Festival Leisure Park, Basildon, Essex.

The park offers exciting outdoor fun for beginner, intermediate and experienced riders.

Will I get wet? Definitely!

Is it easy? Yes, most people will do several full laps within their first session.

How fast will I go? At first you will go quite slowly. Once you have mastered it the normal riding speed is 18 mph.

What happens if I fall off? There are exits positioned all around the lake. You are never more than 20 meters away from dry land!

Is it safe? Yes. This fantastic experience includes instruction from British Water Ski and Wakeboard Licensed Cable Operators. Cable Wakeboarding takes place in a very controlled environment with fully trained and experienced staff always on the look out for your safety.

How much does it cost?Festival Wakeboard Park is offering a special introductory ‘Learn to Wakeboard’ package for £25.00* The package includes 1 and ½ hours of tuition and the use of all equipment.
