State-of-the-Art Manufacturing FacilitiesPrecision Tank is the industry’s leading supplier of tanks for all storage needs. Its fiberglass storage tanks are produced in two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Ligonier, Indiana and Humboldt, Iowa, strategically located to serve our customers in the Midwest and Great Plains. Both facilities are approximately 30,000 square feet in size and contain the newest and most updated innovations in fiberglass tank production technology.

MVP Winders with CNC ControlsMagnum Venus Products (MVP) winders with CNC controls allow Precision to produce tanks with a helical (criss-cross) pattern for superior strength. The inner layer or chemical veil of the tank is composed of 90% resin and 10% veil by weight. The chop layer is the next thickness of the tank and is 70% resin and 30% glass. Next, the filament winding layer uses 60 individual strands resulting in 30% resin and 70% glass.

Depending on the harshness of the chemicals being stored, Precision Tank uses either isophthalic resin or vinyl ester resin throughout the entire tank, including the structural layer. Other fiberglass tank manufacturers often include these resins only up to the corrosion layer. Over time, chemical migration can pass through the corrosion layer and enter the structural layer, causing tank failure. Since Precision includes these resins throughout the entire tank, our tanks offer the strongest resistance to chemical migration and the longest life possible. As a final step in achieving the highest quality tank possible, our gel coat layer protects the fiberglass from weather and UV rays.

With our manufacturing process and high-quality raw materials, our fiberglass tanks are 60% lighter and have a higher strength-to-weight ratio than steel tanks.

Delivered Right to Your SiteTanks are delivered to your storage site, included in your quoted tank price. Customers receive detailed installation instructions and handling suggestions, allowing you or your subcontractor to easily offload and erect your new fiberglass tank.

Features & Options• All Precision fiberglass tanks come with a 3-year warranty.

• Fiberglass tanks are designed to eliminate the effects of fertilizer & chemical corrosion, providing long-term performance.

• Our helical (criss-cross) winding process makes the strongest tank on the market.

• Isophthalic polyester resin is used throughout our standard tanks. Vinyl ester resin is also offered for harsh environmental storage installations, and likewise is used throughout all tank layers.

• The final gel coat exterior has the best resistance to UV light, and will last the entire tank life – no more repainting like mild steel tanks.

• 24” manhole and cover is standard on all tanks.

• 3”, 4” or 6” outlets are available, depending on tank size and customer requirements.

• Fiberglass tanks are 60% lighter and have a higher strength-to-weight ratio than steel tanks.

• Due to increased longevity and low maintenance, fiberglass tanks are more cost-effective than steel tanks.

• Tank Sizes Available: 30,000 – 25,000 – 20,000 – 15,000 – 12,000 gallons

Custom-Made Tops & Bottoms Add to Tank StrengthTops and bottoms for our fiberglass tanks are manufactured over metal molds that have been waxed to make removal of the finished product easier. Chop layers are built up over the entire mold and 24-ounce woven fiberglass is added at the knuckle to add strength. The bottoms are attached to the tank winder and wound on for the best joint strength possible. Tops are attached by a hand lay up process.
