What is Waterwise Landscaping?

“Waterwise” Landscaping refers to choosing drought tolerant plants that thrive in drier climates and survive long periods without water. Waterwise plants need little and sometimes no water, once the plants are established. Many nurseries now carry native or California Friendly™ plants, which are re-sistant to drought and can rely on rainfall most of the year for their watering needs. By planting native or California Friendly™ plants and using efficient irrigation, you can cut your outdoor water use by up to 50% while still growing a pleasant and enjoyable garden.
