FIN_ACC_LOCAL_CLOSE: Business Function Local Close (New) Use As of SAP ERP enhancement package 3 for SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Financials (EA-FIN 603), you can use the Local Close business function. You can use this business function to perform your local close in which you centrally determine who is responsible for each task and when these tasks are executed. The new Web application of Closing Cockpit lets you manage and run your tasks during the closing process, adjust your deadlines and responsibilities afterwards, and access all information concerning a close for each task - this includes the status, duration, logs, comments, documents, and so forth. You can comfortably accomplish all of the local close tasks within a single ERP system. If you nevertheless want to run tasks of Closing Cockpit in multiple systems, you can link Closing Cockpit to SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood (CPS) if you have implemented SAP CPS. This is an additional function that is only available if you have implemented SAP CPS. SAP CPS is not contained in SAP ERP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0. However, Closing Cockpit provides a connection to SAP CPS. For more information about the use, the availability, and the features of SAP CPS, see the documentation of business function Local Close, and also the Master Guide for SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0 at SAP Service Marketplace. The business function provides you with the enhancements in Closing Cockpit as well as enhancements in Intercompany Reconciliation. As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Financials, enhancement package 3 (EA-FIN 603), the business function Local Close features the following functions:

o The Web application Closing Cockpit in SAP NetWeaver Portal or SAP NetWeaver Business Client for centralized access to all closing tasks

o Phases as an additional organizational level in the task hierarchy of Closing Cockpit (in the Web application only)

o Use of the factory calendar to automatically schedule tasks before or after selected key dates that are not working days

o The new field Responsible Person for carrying out the tasks of a task list

o The new field Authorization Group with authorization object F_CLOCO for determining which groups of users are authorized to execute which activities in task lists (in the Web application only)

o Optional: Definition of closing tasks in different systems by means of remote tasks in SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood (CPS). This is an additional function that is only available when SAP CPS is implemented. Effects on System Administration

If you use SAP CPS and want to access it from within Closing Cockpit, you can assign the authorizations for system administration, starting the external scheduler, and managing RFC connections. SAP delivers the following roles for this purpose (transaction PFCG):

o Redwood Scheduler: Add-on for Batch Administrators (SAP_BC_BATCH_ADMIN_REDWOOD)

o Role for Redwood Job Scheduling, Communications Users (SAP_BC_REDWOOD_COMMUNICATION)

o Additional Role for Redwood Communications Users (SAP_BC_REDWOOD_COMM_EXT_SDL)

Effects on Customizing

Furthermore, to you make the Customizing settings for Closing Cockpit, go to the SAP Easy Access Menü and choose Accounting -> Financial Accounting -> General Ledger -> Periodic Processing -> Closing -> Closing Cockpit (Manage Templates and Task Lists) (transaction CLOCOC).

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Financials, enhancement package 3 (EA-FIN 603), business function Local Close, the Business Package for Closing Cockpit 1.30 is available in SAP NetWeaver Portal.

The business package contains the functions of Closing Cockpit (CLOCO), plus new functions that are available only in the Closing Cockpit Web application.

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ECC 6, Enterprise Extension Financials (EA-FIN 603), the business function Local Close features the following functions:

o Loading of Contact Person Data Enables you to import or export contact person data to or from the Intercompany Reconciliation database.

o Simplified Process for Local Intercompany Reconciliation Enables a simplified process for Intercompany Reconciliation when the open items of customers and vendors are located in one (local) system. In this case, the selection, automatic assignment and results display with the option of manual follow-on processing are performed in a single step.

Effects on Existing Data

The following automatic roles have been modified to accommodate the integration of the simplified process of Local Intercompany Reconciliation into SAP NetWeaver Portal:

o AC - FI - Customers (SAP_EP_RW_FDMN)

o AC - FI - Vendors (SAP_EP_RW_FKMN)

The Local Intercompany Reconciliation transaction is located in the SAP Easy Access Menu under Accounting -> Financial Accounting:

-> General Ledger -> Periodic Processing -> Closing -> Check/Count -> Intercompany Reconciliation: Open Items

-> Accounts Payable -> Periodic Processing -> Closing -> Check/Count

-> Accounts Receivable -> Periodic Processing -> Closing -> Check/Count

Effects on Customizing

You make your Customizing settings for Loading of Contact Person Data in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under General Ledger Accounting (New) -> Periodic Processing -> Check/Count -> Cross-System Intercompany Reconciliation ->Preparations in the Reconciliation System -> Communication Support.
