Gilbert, of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Paul A. Labonne of  PNC Bank, Manny Jimenez of Marquette Bank, and A ctivist Athena W illiams to our Board of  Directors and Advisory Boards o n November 20, 2010. Will You Support our new leadership and renewed commitment? In 2010, we have successfully facilitated and advocated funding for project that expand access to financial services, lending, youth programming, healthy food choices, and voter restora tion for groups that include: Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD); The Black Star Project, The Englewood Food Network ; Greater Roseland/West Pullman Food Network; We stside Ministers Coalition (WM C); Genesis Housing Development Corpor ation; Nobel Neighbors; Partners In Commu nity Building, Inc. (PICB) and Kids Off The Block (KOB). Kids Off The Block, Executive Director, Dianne Latiker, says: “Kids Off The Bloc k's relati ons hip w ith t he M onroe Foundation ha s been a great str at egic move by our  Board of Di r ec tors, as it a ligns with our mission to end Youth Vi olence , giv es yout h posit ive choices a nd m uch needed r es our ces. We ha ve bee n a par tner for five years, and have been given the oppor tunit y to sit down w ith funders, tell our story a nd r eceive much needed fundin g to conti nue our vision. The M onroe Foundation ha s opened doors for sma ll or ganizations such as our s, and given us a chance to have our voice s hear d by corpora tions and foundati ons that w ere norm al ly off limit s. W e ar e gr ateful to be a partner and hope to continue for years to come.”   Help Us Continue Our Work in 2011.
