fischer intumescent Acoustic Mastic is suitable for sealing joints and service penetrations in fire walls, partitions, fire rated door frames and glazing systems. Tested to BS476 Parts 20 and 22, fischer intumescent Acoustic Mastic provides up to 4 hours fire protection in joints of up to 30mm wide. In addition to the fire rating the mastic may be used to seal joints in party walls to provide an acoustic seal.

fischer intumescent Acoustic Mastic is a high specification, one part water based acrylic sealant, extruded from a cartridge loaded into a standard sealant gun. The depth of the joint will depend on the gap to be filled and the fire rating required. (See Fire Rating)

The mastic is fast curing approximately 20-30 minutes tack free time.

When fully cured the mastic is overpaintable.

fischer intumescent Putty Pads FiPP have been developed to maintain the acoustic integrity and fire resistance of plasterboard partitions, where they are penetrated by plastic electrical socket boxes. Tested to BS476 Part 20:1987 / EN1366:3, the putty pads offer up to 2 hour fire resistance.

FiPP are manufactured from a red, non-setting, silicone based intumescent polymer.

In a fire, the intumescent pad expands to fill the void left by the burnt out electrical socket box, preventing the spread of fire through the plasterboard wall.

FiPP can also be used for upgrading the acoustic performance of partitions where electrical sockets have penetrated the wall.

Shown to maintain the fire resistance of partitions, in both 1 and 2 hour fire rated constructions.

Firestop Collars consist of a powder coated steel sleeve containing a flexible graphite based intumescent liner manufactured to suit the pipework to be firestopped for a 1, 2 or 4 hour fire rating. Integral toggles are opened up and the collar is simply fitted around the pipe. The toggles are closed and the collar is pushed flush to the surface of the wall or underside of the floor: The collar is then securely fastened to the structure by means of fire resistant fixings threaded through fixings tabs (fire rated fixings pg 34-37). Any gaps of up to 10mm wide around the pipework should be filled with Intumescent Acoustic Mastic. For gaps greater than 10mm wide Firestop Compound can be used.

Under fire conditions the intumescent material swells filling the void left by the burnt out plastic.

Pipe Wraps comprise layers of a graphite based intumescent sheet encapsulated in a polythene sheath. The product is manufactured to be wrapped around the outside diameter of the pipework or trunking and is secured by means of a self-adhesive strip to give a 2 hour or 4 hour fire rating. The Intumescent Pipe Wrap is then positioned within the compartment wall or floor so that the edge of the product is left exposed at the face of the wall or soffit.

The Intumescent Pipe Wrap is then sealed into the structure with Firestop Compound.

Under fire conditions, the intumescent material expands against the structure and fills the void left by the burnt out plastic.

For walls it will be necessary to fit two wraps to prevent fire spread fire spread from either side.

Do not mix weaker than 2:1. ▪ Set the shuttering into the opening ensuring a tight fit so that once the required depth of Compound is installed it finishes flush with the floor slab/screed unless otherwise specified. ▪ Mix and pour Compound until the required thickness is achieved. ▪ Reinforcing requires 12mm dia. bars placed at a maximum of 200mm centres across the shortspan only. The bars may be either recessed into the surrounding structure by a minimum of 50mm on both sides or supported on an angle securely fixed to the structure, all positioned approximately 30 mm above the bottom surface of the compound to ensure adequate fire protection from below. Existing compound installations can be easily drilled or sawn to allow the provision of additional or replacement sercvices, and subsequently re-sealed. Recommended minimum clearance between services and surrounding strucutre - 50mm or hals the diameter, whichever is greater.

fischer insulated Fire Sleeves are a unique combination of Rockwool and Graphite intumescent that provide all the benefits of Rockwool’s thermal, noise and fire benefits with an added intumescent effect.

For insulated pipes it is normally necessary to remove the insulation at point of penetration to enable standard pipe collars to close plastic pipes. This removal of insulation results in condensation on cold pipes and loss of thermal performance on hot pipes.

fischer insulated Fire Sleeves avoids this problem by providing both fire stopping and thermal insulation.

fischer insulated Fire Sleeves are intended for use on Copper, Mild Steel, Polypropylene and PVC pipes and can provide 1 /2, 1 and 2 hour fire resistance.

fischer insulated Fire Sleeves are supplied 300mm long and are simply cut to the desired length. The sleeve must fully cover the part of the pipe that is located within the depth of the compartment wall or floor. The sleeve may be flush fitting or may protrude from the wall/floor by 25mm (typ.) to facilitate sealing of the outer foil facing onto adjacent insulation.

All joints to be taped with self-adhesive foil tape, including the joints where the insulated fire sleeve butts to existing insulation.

No specialist tools or ancillary materials are required for the fitting of fischer insulated Fire Sleeves.

fischer insulated Fire Sleeves can accommodate irregularities in the annular gap between the wall and the pipe O.D. up to 15mm.

Multiple pipe penetations can be accommodated in conjunction with fischer Coated Panel System.

The coated panels are simply cut and friction fitted between the services and the edges of the structure.* The fire rated coating is used as an adhesive to bond sections of panel together into a barrier and to the surrounding structure. All joints in the barrier are pointed in with intumescent Acoustic Sealant to form a monolithic layer.

*(Plastic pipework needs to be sleeved with fischer Fire Collars prior to installation of the coated panel system.)

In plasterboard partitions, fischer Coated Panel System must be fitted to both sides of the wall to fire protect the studs.

In floor applications, fischer Coated Panel has to be protected from physical damage by foot traffic (e.g. with a ply board or chequer plate platform).

For large floor openings we would advise using fischer Firestop Compound

fischer Quickpass provides a dependable, engineered, firestopping solution for cable management, in fire rated walls and floors. Tested to BS476 Part 20:EN1366:3, fischer Quickpass has been shown to provide up to 2 hours fire protection.

fischer Quickpass consists of a red metallic tube, lined with a rigid intumescent material. In a retro-fit scenario, where cabling already passes through walls or floors, both the metallic and intumescent components of this system are simply eased apart and reassembled around the cable bunches.

fischer Quickpass can then be sealed within the wall or floor using Firestop Compound or in core drilled holes with annular gaps of up to 10mm wide with Intumescent Acoustic Mastic, leaving a robust and permanent firestop.

Currently, the integrity of firestopping seals is often breached during cable maintenance and upgrade works. fischer Quickpass can be installed empty or completely full of cables. This flexibility allows cables to be pulled at a later date without any of these worries!

fischer Cavity Firestop Expansion is a compressible product to fill fire rated joints in compartment floors and walls. Tested to BS476 Part 20, fischer Cavity Firestop Expansion provides up to 4 hours’ fire protection.

fischer Cavity Firestop Expansion is a highly compressible strip formed by laminating fire retardant foam to a graphite based intumescent polymer.

fischer Cavity Firestop Expansion is delivered to site in pre-formed sections. The section size depends on the joint size and the fire rating that needs to be achieved (See Fire Rating).

fischer Cavity Firestop Expansion is simply compressed by hand and is then pushed into the gap. Adjacent pieces of the product are simply butted together. There is no need to use any adhesives or intumescent sealant in conjunction with the product.

In a fire, the graphite based intumescent material swells to form a hard char which prevents the passage of fire and smoke through the joint.
