In the beginning…

Genesis 1:1 Genesis means “beginning” or

“origin” Created means to “make out of

nothing” Hebrews 11:3

Only God can make something out of nothing

Jeremiah 32:17 God’s power is beyond our

understanding Nothing too hard for God

How did God know how to make all this? We have to learn how to

make things Romans 11:33

The earth, when first created

No dry land No life anywhere

God was ready to make everything

God is all-powerful God moved upon the

face of the waters We cannot understand

God’s mighty power Father, Son, and Holy

Spirit all took part in creation Trinity is beyond our

understanding

The first day: light

Genesis 1:3 Only God could create

simply by speaking Light is a wonderful

It was good Everything God made is

perfect• God is perfect• Psalm 18:30• Isaiah 6:3

Genesis 1:5 Divided light/darkness Light = “day” Darkness = “night”

God created light, not sun, on this day

The second day: firmament

Conclusion

Man’s idea of how the world came to be are changing all the time

God’s true written history has not changed He was there He told us in His Word

that He created everything

God is greater and more powerful than all
