Title: Inferno 2007, Flame 2007, Flint 2007 FKBL
Document Version: 2
Date: October 18, 2006
The following bugs have been fixed in Inferno 2007, Flame 2007, and Flint 2007. They apply to both
IRIX and Linux workstations unless otherwise indicated.
Fixed Bugs
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
action sys00000600 You can't use an object with a deformation mesh as a ParticleDraw.
If you try to, the generated particles will ignore the effect of the
mesh.
action sys00002623 Wrap and cylindrical texture do not work with exploding particles or
ParticleDraw.
action sys00034144 In Action, you cannot add a camera to a source node to be able to
control the scene.
action sys00050143 When in Action while working in proxy mode, keys applied to layers
don't update during playback with play lock off.
action sys00074227 With some files originating from 3ds max 6 and 7, camera parenting
is not correctly interpreted on FBX import.
action sys00093164 In Action, when using the projector with mixed resolution layers,
there is a possiblity that the projected image will be corrupted.
action sys00102486 You may cause the application to crash when changing the
transparency value with Texture set to off.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
action sys00111957 Your system may freeze when you unlink a node or a group of
nodes in Action.
action sys00137493 In Motion Blur, Phase is not working for any value between -100 and
100.
action sys00148913 The Undo operation deselects current selection and selects the
channel hierarchy.
action sys00149039 Layer numbers are missing from the layer list.
action sys00154644 In Action setup, saving FBX causes you to lose submaterials when
reloading the setup.
action sys00161722 In Action, switching back and forth between Keyer and Master Keyer
may cause the application to crash.
all modules sys00143671 The software license becomes invalid when you connect a SCSI
device to the system.
archive sys00019874 When performing multi-tape archiving using DTF2 tape drives, you
may experience problems when loading tape 2 and subsequent
tapes. If you don't wait long enough for the tape to be properly
loaded, you can't format the tapes.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
archive sys00041916 If, from the desktop, you attempt to archive more material than can
fit on your tape, the application does not prompt you to create a
multiple-tape archive.
archive sys00048097 You cannot restore a SAIT tape archive after you reboot your
machine. When you provide an HTML TOC for the archive, you still
cannot restore the material.
archive sys00048326 When archiving clips with history, no warning is given initially if
multiple tapes are needed. You are only prompted to switch tapes
when the first tape is full.
archive sys00049167 VTR archiving on a drop-frame-timecode tape is not supported. Use
a non-drop-frame-timecode tape for VTR archiving.
archive sys00049259 A message appearing when you create a multi-tape VTR archive
that warns you to prepare additional tapes is confusing.
archive sys00050399 You may receive an error message when starting archiving after
formatting your tape device.
archive sys00058447 When the media of a soft-imported clip is not available, the clip in
the library still shows the cached media.
archive sys00060975 When archiving soft-imported clips, the clips are stonifised even
when the source media is missing.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
archive sys00068490 After starting an archiving process, double-clicking anywhere in the
UI brings up a Confirm button that you can click to abort the
process. If you minimize and then maximize the application prior to
double-clicking, the Confirm button does not appear.
archive sys00073121 (IRIX only) When appending or re-opening an existing archive
(either video or data), the online table of contents (OTOC) files are
overwritten.
Note: This fix involves creating backups of the OTOC when new
clips are appended to an archive, or if the archive toc and otoc are
different. The otoc backups have numerical extensions appended to
the file names, starting at 001. Also, the otoc name is now based on
the modification date, instead of the creation date, therefore a new
otoc is created for each modification. You may need to clean up old
otoc files and backups manually.

archive sys00080656 When archiving to a tape that is too short, the multi-tape archiving
function may mistakenly start.
archive sys00094428 You cannot restore archives created using earlier versions of the
application to a project set with proxies on.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
archive sys00095040 Archiving does not work if there are too many history setups to
archive and all the file names don't fit on a single shell command
line.
archive sys00095406 When you restore archives from some SAIT devices, audio files
may get corrupted.
archive sys00095782 When performing space estimation for archiving, the application
may not determine that multiple tapes are needed.
archive sys00099974 Some archived libraries cannot be listed, even though they can be
successfully restored.
archive sys00108733 The UI is not refreshed correctly after creating or closing an archive
header in a 12-bit graphics project.
archive sys00108890 If a file archive contains a clip made of virtual black frames (colour
source) with audio, the file archive will crash on opening.
audio sys00007517 The quality of audio timestretch neeeds to be improved.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
audio sys00082079 A compensation mecanism has been introduced to ensure a perfect
sync between the audio going out of the DVS, the audio meters and
the video frames displayed on the graphics.
There's a known side effect to this mecanism : You cannot hear the
first five audio frames due to the DVS board latency.
audio sys00091765 Audio dissolve curve display is not sub-frame accurate, and if mixed
down, is not applied properly.
audio sys00159478 When copying audio from a mono clip to a clip without audio while
flipping audio channels may crash the application.
batch sys00006945 In Batch, grids and guides disappear upon playing a clip node
(realtime playback).
batch sys00007210 Setups load slower in inferno 5.0, flame 8.0, and flint 8.0 (and later
versions) when loading clips from remote libraries.
batch sys00051731 Animated channel parameters are not correctly updated in batch
view of action node.
batch sys00079896 When loading a clip that contains history with wildcard nodes
information into Batch, the cached frames of the wildcard nodes will
not be found. This results in corrupted frames.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
batch sys00103695 Batch/Action, particles update very slowly when scrolling in the
timeline.
batch sys00108435 Clips with a large amount of history data attached take a long time
to open on the desktop.
batch sys00108576 Multiview Redisplay All is disabled if you select a node.
batch sys00129046 Previewing an Action node flushes any cached frames for the node.
Workaround: try to preview from another node
batch sys00129919 In Action, the Autokey remains enabled even when you disable it
manually.
batch sys00130922 Layers are dropped as the system runs out of frame buffer.
Workaround: Since artifact are not always showing up at the same
place, you need to render it multiple time and rebuild it with non
corrupted frames.
batch sys00134122 Action particle setups are slower to process than in previous
versions of the software.
batch sys00155748 When using the Segment FX Editor in Batch, the cache is flushed
when saving or exiting.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
burn_components sys00106958 When you send a job to Burn from an IFFFS workstation, and a
client (Backburner monitor or another IFFFS workstation) is already
connected to the Backburner manager you're using, you receiev an
error message about port 30000 already in use and port 29999 being
used instead.
burn_components sys00143676 Burn process does not terminate when sending consecutive jobs
(application unload timeout error).
channel editor sys00040188 You cannot transform curves driven by an expression or an
extrapolation of a curve into keyframed curves applying the Bake
function to the curve.
clip history sys00064370 The software may crash if you load clips with clip history created in
previous versions of the software (from inferno 6.0 or flame/flint 9.0
onwards).
clip history sys00089463 History files that are older than 10 days are deleted from the
/tmp/historyXXXXX directory if the software is left running overnight.
clip history sys00095565 Deleting clip history also deletes Paint and Stabilizer intermediates.
clip history sys00115626 Clips with large clip histories take a very long time to load either in
batch or library.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
clip history sys00158023 The application may hang if you delete a clip with Clip History
enabled, then try to re-enter a module with the same clips option.
colour corrector sys00100267 Working on a soft clip in one of the Desktop modules, while the clip
is being rendered in Burn, corrupts the resulting clip.
colour source / frame sys00060708 Processing clips with sizes that exceed the free space remaining on
the framestore crashes the application.
colour source / frame sys00114765 When using the recursive clone and possibly other brushes there is
a blending issue with the brush stroke (artifacts show in the brush
stroke).
colour warper sys00105589 Each time a Colour Warper effect or a Colour Corrector soft effect is
applied, the application uses too much memory.
desktop sys00021015 In the Left->Right mode, newly generated clips are placed on the left
end of the reel instead of the right end.
desktop sys00156221 Deleting the sources or intermediates of a clip in Clip History may
cause a crash.
distort sys00077542 The first time you attempt to process a clip in the Distort module, the
processing stops before completion. This is the case only for morphs
and distorts that make use of two clips, two mattes and a
background.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
drivers sys00111637 Stone and Wire (sw26 p287 and earlier) do not support more than
32 SCSI/Fiber devices.
dve sys00006293 When using the Keyer or Colour Corrector through DVE or Action,
the image window won't shifts vertically anymore when you select
Context view in the Keyer or Colour Corrector.
dve sys00089089 In Action and DVE, a line of pixels may appear along the lower edge
of a surface.
dve/action sys00096356 Maya 6.5 FBX files can not be imported.
edl sys00014075 The clips captured using EDL capture do not show the correct
timecode if the framecode modes of the tape and the EDL do not
match.
edl sys00024781 An EDL capture session may abort when capturing from multiple
tapes which have different frame code modes.
edl sys00058477 Resulting clips from EDL Capture with 2:3 removal are now set to
Progressive.
edl sys00098846 The Bit Depth box is not available from the Capture menu accessed
from the Import EDL module.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
edl sys00101664 When capturing material with mixed DF and NDF timecodes from a
VTR using an autostart option with EDL, the application cannont
identify the correct timecode and returns an error message.
edl sys00110131 Capture EDL handles value is reduced to 99.
edl sys00115470 There is an extra % sign next to a changed speed value in the EDL
event list.
edl sys00128724 The state of the Edit Sync Creation option set in the Engineering
menu is not taken into account when capturing EDLs.
edl sys00133808 Avid® Log Exchange (ALE) files without keycode data cannot be
loaded.
emulator sys00133611 When performing VTR emulation, you may experience dropped
frames after a few minutes.
emulator sys00144800 When performing VTR emulation, you may experience dropped
frames after a few minutes.
garbage mask sys00095508 New functionality is required in order to better control gradient
softness between the inner and outer edges of a garbage mask.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
garbage mask sys00101661 While drawing a mask, if you click on one of the clip transport
controls and then return to add additional points to the mask, the
application crashes.
garbage mask sys00154126 The grid center icon is about 1/2 pixel off.
general sys00013986 Flint crashes when you select a 10 bit project.
general sys00090426 The calculator is not working correctly when dividing before
multiplying in one sequence.
import / export image sys00042954 The History icon may appear on soft-imported clips that do not have
history.
import / export image sys00051074 Background operations stop when you exit the application.
import / export image sys00058316 When using Background Import, the status field does not refresh.
import / export image sys00087193 Aspect ratio information is not read and used when importing DPX
files.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
import / export image sys00095175 Quicktime 7.0 files from Mac and PCs can be imported in IFFFS.
Please make sure to use supported codecs. For more information
refer to the “Importing and Exporting Media Files” chapter in the
documentation.
import / export image sys00105698 You cannot use proxies of DPX clips soft imported in the
background.

before a Background IO process has completed:
CsfUnixStream.C:264 Failed closing socket /tmp/DL.sys.g4z8Ft.
The error, however, has no effect on the process.
import / export image sys00120192 When working in the Import Image or Export Image modules,
swiping at the bottom of the UI to reveal the background I/O menu
causes a display problem: the operation progress does not refresh
automatically.
import / export movie sys00073172 The aspect ratio of a clip changes when imported via background
I/O.
import / export movie sys00108767 Importing movie files created using JPEG or Motion JPEGA codecs
cause a system to crash.
import / export movie sys00150355 (IRIX only) You cannot export MPEG movies with audio that are
longer than a certain amount of frames (900 or more).
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
import / export movie sys00150389 Resizing a Quicktime movie with alpha (XRGB) on import does not
affect the size of the alpha channel.
import / export movie sys00156377 Importing an MPEG file with audio may cause a system to crash.
keyer sys00110868 When using the Undo button with the pen/tablet, more than one
level of Undo may occur.
layer-based paint sys00095684 When using Reveal in layer-based Paint, the layer being revealed
does not advance if you move to the next frame while the cursor is
still in the canvas.
layer-based paint sys00095857 When working with Paint layer in Batch, setting vertical resolution of
a high resolution clip to an odd value may result in line artifacts.
layer-based paint sys00096223 When using layer-based Paint on an Onyx system, enabling
multisample slows down the application of paint strokes.
layer-based paint sys00096284 In layer-based Paint, when using clips that exceed the project
resolution size, strokes applied near the image border can only be
black. Only strokes applied in the area within the project resolution
boundaries maintain the original colour.
layer-based paint sys00136083 You may experience performance problems with drawing
constraints, custom brushes, and brush settings.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
library sys00109083 In the clip library, the search resolution should default to project
resolution
library sys00109989 When you reboot the system after uninstalling a disk from the disk
array and then start the application, you may receive the message
that does not reflect the problem, i.e. that the drive is missing and a
system heal is needed.
lut sys00109224 When you attempt to load an encrypted 3D LUT (*.e3d) that has
been generated on the same host, the following error message
displays: "Error reading encrypted 3D lut file." You are then unable
to load the 3D LUT.
modular keyer sys00007632 When reloading a Modular Keyer setup, a keyframe is set at the
current frame in the Result curve if no keyframe exists for it.
other sys00113426 (Linux only) If you have the NVIDIA Quadro FX4500G graphics
board installed in your system, the system may randomly crash on
logout.
other sys00123481 When a rebuild is in progress, nothing displays on the task bar.
paint sys00048290 If you advance a frame after painting on the matte in Paint, the
application crashes. This happens most often when zoomed in.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
paint sys00077878 When you save work performed in Paint using Autopaint, Smoke
crashes.
paint sys00102589 When scrolling an image in Paint, the image only updates when you
release the pointing device.
paint sys00113555 The Paint Palette may become corrupted when you work with 10-
and 12-bit graphics.
paint sys00114806 When returning to home view after zooming out, the application
remains in Tiled mode instead of returning to Raster mode.
paint sys00116132 Painting on an image that is wider than your project resolution will
reveal a shifted version of your source image. Your brush needs
some trasparency to see the shift.
paint sys00118807 You may experience UI dispaly problems when working on an 8-bit
graphics project while using Raster mode.
paint sys00120384 The Recursive Clone brush creates artefacts when using Tiled mode
in a 12-bit graphics project.
paint sys00148825 A zoomed-in image may slightly enlarge when Paint strokes are
applied to it.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
player sys00009964 The performance of the Player and Clip I/O are affected by all
background tasks.
player sys00108150 Realtime playback is lost if you use the Play Audio Only mode with a
12-bit clip.
player sys00143183 When you load a 24psf clip into the Player, the 2:3 pulldown insert
option is not available.
preferences sys00047862 The Wacom tablet preference reduces by 5 percent each time you
install Smoke or Flint.
project management sys00033587 When deleting projects, there is no Delete All button.
project management sys00098777 When you delete pojects the application prompts to delete clip
history data one at a time. At this point, the Y/N prompt may not be
visible.
project management sys00130775 Deleting a project does not delete history from the project metadata
folder.
project management sys00141939 Projects created in an Effects application cannot be fully deleted
from an Editing application and vice versa.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
publish sys00050601 When performing Lustre publish with an EDL, file names that
include indices are truncated if the file name is longer than 55
characters.
publish sys00065103 Publish sequence starting number must be 1, not 0.
regrain sys00111028 Loading a Regrain setup on the desktop that was saved in Batch
may crash the application.
software configuration sys00020826 When an application is installed without an HD license, an error
message appears about Video timing being unavailable.
software configuration sys00048868 The Linux RPM installer may stop while running the application
installation script.
software configuration sys00101419 On IRIX systems, after you install your application, the following
message may appear when starting it for the first time: "Error. Press
(ESC)."
software configuration sys00104390 Remote framestores in the Network panel may not behave
according to the NetworkPanelDisplay keyword. This keyword is
overridden by the DL_NETWORK_SHOW_ALL 1 environment
variable in your application's .cshrc file.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
software configuration sys00111326 On a IBM ZPro 6221 workstation, the installation script for Linux
effects and editing applications sets up an IBM CRT monitor by
default. If the workstation is equipped with an LCD monitor (such as
the Sony P234LCD monitor), the graphics (XServer) will not start
correctly.
sparks sys00015334 On 10-bits-only platforms, image corruption may occur when you
use Spark 422022 with 10-bit clips.
sparks sys00050181 Within batch sparks hangs flame on Oct MXE when exiting.
Workaround: Commenting the Video Token when working with
sparks on MXE seem to prevent the hangs.
sparks sys00149354 Changing a colour using colour pots in the Sparks module crashes
the application.
stabilizer sys00133622 In Stabilizer, selecting the option curve "Simplify" automatically
applies the default value 0.00 instead of the desired value.
system configuration sys00022814 Hot keys are unavailable when Scroll Lock is enabled.
system configuration sys00099564 The Japanese text input method does not work on editing or effects
products for IRIX workstations.
Fixed Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
system configuration sys00110081 With switchable storage, you can not do a film project between an
LCD and CRT monitor.
The problem was due to the different monitor refresh rates specified
in the film project configuration files:
film.cfg specifies the 72Hz refresh rate used for analog monitors
film_48.cfg specifies the 48Hz refresh rate used for LCD monitors
Problems arose when a system with a CRT (analog) monitor opened
film projects based on the film_48.cfg file, or a system with an LCD
monitor opened film projects based on the film.cfg file.
The solution is to indicate the monitor type in the software
initialisation file (init.cfg) for the application, by adding either
'Analog' or 'LCD' as a third argument to the HiresChannel keyword.
Examples:
HiresChannel vpro, 0, Analog
HiresChannel vpro, 0, LCD
This keyword works in concert with the Hires keyword in the project
configuration file. If you specify 'Analog' in the HiresChannel
keyword, when the application opens the project, it sets the Hires
keyword to 72Hz (to reflect the refresh rate implied by 'Analog'). If
you specify 'LCD', it adjusts the Hires keyword to 48Hz (to reflect
the refresh rate implied by 'LCD').
If you do not specify the monitor type in the HiresChannel keyword,
the refresh rate used is the one specified in the Hires keyword.

and Linux workstations unless otherwise indicated.
Known Bugs
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
action sys00000814 Cylindrical texture mapping does not work properly with a Deformation
node.
action sys00001744 When texture is off, only the last projector projects onto surfaces. The
image that is not affected by the projector is blacked out.
action sys00001881 In Action, a thin black line appears around an image if the image
contains movement along the X axis and if multisampling is on.
action sys00005004 Camera FOV values are not respected once imported into 3ds max.
action sys00007820 When accessing the Keyer through Action, the Keyer does not apply
the layer slip if the layer is slipped using an expression or if it is
otherwise animated.
action sys00010814 In Action, if a surface's matte is white on the edge of the image, and if
the surface has filtering enabled, then the image's outline will be darker
than it should. This appears on Flame running on Octane2 with Burn.
Workaround: Turn off filtering for the surface. If filtering is required, try
cropping the edges with Action > Layer > Crop.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
action sys00111130 When processing layer matte output in Action accessed from the
Desktop, the process uses the clip resolution instead of the Action
setup resolution. This problem does not affect Batch Action.
action sys00149666 While in Action, some artifacts appear in the image when previewing a
multiplied surface.
Workaround: Crop will get rid of the artifacts, but if you set softness to
the crop the artifacts will be displayed again.
action sys00157339 In Action, when copying a crop from one layer to another, the crop
values are not copied over.
action sys00161463 In Action, the "active" checkmark for colour correcting on a layer is left
ON when you cancel out of the Colour Corrector module for a layer.
action sys00163716 Cameras exported to the FBX format only contain the first position of
the camera.
action sys00165618 In IFF on Linux, the rendered results of Action scenes containing 3D
objects may flicker when played back in Player.
action sys00167289 FBX files imported from Maya are scaled incorrectly and need to be
resized.
Workaround: Scale the object.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
action sys00167290 Framerate mismatch may occur when using FBX models. FBX
assumes a framerate of 30fps even though the 3D scene may be laid
out at 24fps.
action sys00167702 In Action, mixing scan mode types on a layer produces field dominance
issues.
action sys00168031 FBX camera files generated with the 2006-08 FBX exporter are not
recognized.
Workaround: When exporting from Maya or Max, use the oldest
"export to version: FBX53_MB55" option. When exporting from Motion
Builder, use the FBX converter to convert the FBX file to an older
FBX53_MB55 version.
action sys00170456 When using indirect CC in Action, the range gets reset when toggling
from full resolution to proxy mode.
all modules sys00000906 No error message appears when trying to save setup files to a system
disk that is full. This results in incomplete and corrupted setups.
archive sys00006737 Archiving to an NFS 2 filesystem is limited to a file size of 2 GB. The
NFS 3 filesystem does not have this limitation.
Workaround: Use the Reverse Dominance tool to clean up transitions
or simply disable the VideoPreviewDevice Keyword in init.cfg.
archive sys00009484 When archiving to a VTR with incorrect sync, an error message
appears warning you about video quality. The problem is actually
related to the sync.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
archive sys00010768 Restoring an old F2 archive may crash the application.
Workaround: Set the DL_RESTORE_OLD_ARCH_F2 environment
variable before starting the application.

the Panasonic HD-3700 D5 Manual.
audio sys00074270 (Linux only) Audio pops may occur on transitions when you output a
clip. This will usually occur at the beginning of the segment.
Workaround: Make sure the tape is prerecoded with silence and set the
VTR to Cross-fade.
audio sys00126548 On a Lucid ADA88192, when the front panel displays the menu
<System/RS-232>, you may lose remote control of the box and it will
become unaccessible at application startup.
Workaround: Power cycle the ADA88192 (the front display will now
show the meters view) and restart the application. Make sure that you
do not leave the ADA88192 front panel display in the System/RS-232
menu before starting the application.
audio sys00130528 On Linux systems with DVS, when an input signal does not match the

Workaround: Set a parameter for the matte and then display the Matte
view.
batch sys00010153 In Batch, the Undo list is lost when you switch to proxy or
full-resolution, or when you enter or exit the Modular Keyer.
batch sys00157379 In Batch, if you set resize keyframes on an import node using "Fit
Source", the Left/Right/Top/Bottom offsets aren't set or updated
properly on the output node.
Workaround: Go into the Animation Channel Editor, and reset the
channels for "offsets" so they all have a value of 0.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
batch sys00165035 In Batch, the Matte mode settings in a Regrain node are not saved in
the setup.
batch sys00167759 When working in Batch mode, using a Gmask node before a Spark
node in a setup may cause the application to crash.
Workaround: Select another node before the Gmask node.
batch sys00167985 In Batch, when deleting a setup that has a dot in the name, Batch
deletes other setups that contain dots in the name as well.
Workaround: Replace the dot by an underscore.
batch sys00172129 When using the Timeline in Batch and in Result view, scrolling the
positioner via the TC box from positive to negative values may crash
the application.
Workaround: Scroll in Front view instead of Result view.

minimizes the KDE shortcuts panel.
system configuration sys00024827 Linux systems with a 4-port Qlogic card (QLA 2344) may take a long
time to start if fibre channel ports are not connected or terminated. This
is because Linux can wait up to 2 minutes for each unconnected port to
time-out before continuing to boot.
Workaround: Place optical terminators on unconnected fibre channel
ports.
system configuration sys00108373 You may lose mouse functionality when switching between virtual
desktops.
Workaround: Exit and restart the application, or press Shift-M insert.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area

system configuration sys00168641 On Tezro and Octane2 systems using the V12 Graphics card and
running IRIX 6.5.28, the system may experience noticeable
performance degradation when using Shadows in Action.
Workaround: Instead of using the built-in Shadow feature in Action do
the following:
1) Add another layer using a solid color and the matte corresponding to
the layer that requires a shadow;
2) In FLAME, add an image corresponding to this layer, then parent the
main image to the shadow image;
3) In SMOKE, link the Layer and its Shadow using a Global.
text sys00000519 The width of the underline does not render at an even rate.
text sys00096121 The Chinese Input Method window opens behind the Smoke window.
Workaround:
1) setenv DL_FORCE_HEIGHT N, where N is the display height minus
one. For example, for a 1600x1200 display, N would be 1199. This
step allows other windows to open in front of the Smoke window.
2) To eliminate the task bar, right-click the KDE task bar at the bottom
of the screen and select "Configure Panel". In Layout, select the
"Hiding" panel. Select "Allow other windows to cover the panel". In
smoke, press Alt-F1 to raise it above other windows.

text sys00170487 In the Text module, when you load a logo into a new layer, then you
render Both or Matte, the matte clip may have incorrect mattes for the
logo elements. The result is the same as for the front.
timewarp sys00007129 In the Batch timeline, preferences for interpolation and extrapolation
are not applied to the timewarp curves.
unlink / relink sys00157643 Recapturing an unlinked clip manually does not bring back the
expected media.
Workaround: Use Strict mode when relinking with the Relink tool.
Other workaround: In the Recapture dialog use "Relink" to get the
correct media on the edited clip.
video certification sys00119903 On Linux systems, Outputing video only to a Betacam SP will not work
if the PC running the application does not receive a valid audio AES
signal back from the DVS.
video certification sys00130371 On Linux systems, you may lose audio monitoring when inputting clips
from a VTR if you change the scan mode. The input result is not
impacted.
video_io sys00001175 You cannot use frame grab with the HDCAM codec.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
video_io sys00002442 On Octane2 systems, when turning the HDCAM VTR (HDW-F500) on
and off with the VTR set to 24 fps mode, the application may crash.
Workaround: Before turning the VTR on or off, disconnect the video
signal from the Octane2.
video_io sys00005110 On Octane MXE and SE systems, connecting a Digital Betacam VTR,
when the 701 (EE Delay) menu is set to the Sync Delay option, creates
a field dominance problem.
Workaround: Set the menu to Video Delay.
video_io sys00006558 You cannot format an archive if the VITC timecode is not present or is
incorrect. There is no way to force LTC only instead of VITC or
VITC/LTC.
video_io sys00006663 When 2:3 Insertion is enabled, modifying the In point with the - and +
buttons causes the In point to miss one frame every second, for
example, 1:21:47:28 -> 1:21:47:29 -> 1:21:48:01.
video_io sys00009728 Aborting a VTR output may cause extra freeze frames to be left on the
tape.
video_io sys00012892 On Octane MXE systems, when outputting clips, any error messages
that occur may be displayed too quickly.
video_io sys00013768 A thin red line may appear in the Input Clip menu at the top of the
display and in the clip.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
video_io sys00020113 When feeding an SD composite reference and an HD tri-level
reference to the AJ-HD2700 in 720p_60P, the deck loses the sync
every 10 seconds in Record mode.
viewing sys00093307 A sequence exported or published from IFFFS containing both scanned
frames and exported/published frames, will cause a split frame to occur
when imported into Lustre. Lustre reads the first frame and then
assumes that all following frames share identical header information
(aside from the TC). When a different header type is present in the
sequence, Lustre does not rescan the frame.
Workaround: Soft-import all shot frames and then use the Lustre
Publish function to ensure that no mixed headers are present in the
sequence.
vtr i/o engineering sys00069646 On Linux workstations, when working in an HD project you cannot use
an NTSC or a PAL SD sync signal.
Workaround: Use a Tri-level sync signal and device. The application's
syncing default is Tri-level.
vtr i/o engineering sys00156213 On Octane 2 systems without DM5, a broadcast monitor may flash
intermittently to black during clip Input or Output, and when working in
certain modules such as PAINT or DVE.
vtr i/o engineering sys00162671 On Octane 2 systems without DM5, when playing back a clip in PAL
the system may drop frames.
Workaround: Go into the Input Module and exit, or launch your PAL
project with a different timing, or change the Sync Keyword in init.cfg
file to STANDALONE.
vtr i/o engineering sys00167266 When editing the VTR configuration section of the init.cfg file, you
cannot enter the DIGITAL token as it is seen as invalid.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
vtr i/o engineering sys00167726 On Linux systems with the AJA OEM2K board, for 720p images, the
RGB 444 signal is not correctly inputted. Some pixels may seem to be
randomly shifted vertically and/or horizontally.
vtr input sys00007744 When inputting a clip, if the workstation from which you are capturing is
accessed via the network it will drop the capture and start to retry. It
will retry until it reaches its maximum retry count then show "Capture
completed", even though the capture was never done.
vtr input sys00008971 A framecode mode change on a given source tape is not properly
managed during EDL capture.
Workaround: Manually restart the second framecode mode batch
capture.
vtr input sys00028192 There are some limitations when doing Video I/O of HD 10-bit media:
On Octane 2, HD 10-bit video I/O and VTR archiving is not supported.
On Onyx 2, parity and proxy on the fly cannot be done when inputting /
restoring a VTR archive in HD 10-bit.
vtr input sys00037298 There is image stutter when capturing HD 1920x1080_5994 with a
proxy project using Tri-Level sync. The capture is fine, only the preview
is affected.
vtr input sys00047861 On Linux workstations, if you unplug and replug your SDI VTR output
to DVS cable, you will encounter interactivity problems. Either the
playback will not be in real-time or it will freeze completely.
Workaround: Exit the Input/Output Clip module and re-enter it.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
vtr input sys00054319 There is no error message displayed when doing HSDL I/O with a
device that has a different timing then the application.
Workaround: Make sure that you use the same timing in the application
as the HSDL device uses.
vtr input sys00074513 If you attempt to capture from a tape that has the same VITC and LTC,
then the capture process will fail to cue up to the In and Out points, and
the process fails. This occurs when either VITC + LTC or LTC Only are
selected in the clip I/O Engineering menu.
Workaround: Ensure that the TCR setting on the VTR is set to LTC.
vtr input sys00101594 On Onyx 2 workstations, capturing HD clips with proxies results in
dropped frames.
Workaround: Use a parity and proxy generation option.
vtr input sys00162239 When inputting or outputting Varicam clips, the timecode may not
match the timecode on the tape.
Workaround: Use import or export EDL with Varicam disabled.
vtr input sys00162709 On Linux systems, the frame code mode of the first HSDL capture may
be incorrect.
Workaround: After the first capture, exit and re-enter the Input Clip
menu. Your timecode and In and Out points are now correct.
vtr input sys00162710 On Linux systems, you may encounter some instability, such as
dropped frames or failed captures, when capturing from an HSDL
device.
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
vtr output sys00012719 On Linux systems, the video does not update properly when split
screen is on.
vtr output sys00013158 Inputting clips using the Pen/Pen option and
disconnecting/reconnecting the input and RS422 a few times
intermittently results in hanging the system.
vtr output sys00037737 When performing output operations with two clips of different bit
depths, the first clip will end up with the wrong timing or no reference
signal and the second clip will be fine.
vtr output sys00072003 Any Out point computed over 00:00:00:00 will cause the output to tape
to fail.
vtr output sys00096231 When inputting or outputting 1920x1080 59.94 fps 10-bit video, the
broadcast monitor may not display the signal properly. I/O itself is
unaffected.
vtr output sys00145500 The application may hang when outputting an SD clip if the Video In is
not connected. You can perform the output operations without errors.
The problem is not present in HD.
Workaround:
Two sets of environment variable are required to make this work:
1- The following let you enter the Output module:
setenv DL_MSG_LEVEL debug
setenv DLVIDEO_DEBUG_DEVICE 1
2- And this one blacks out the input while outputting:
setenv DL_DVS_OUTPUT_DISABLE_INPUT_PREVIEW
Known Bug DescriptionIDFeature Area
vtr output sys00163664 When outputting to VTR, the Tape EE button may become disabled, so
you won't be able to monitor your output.
