CYS SERVICE SPECIAL OPENING - RESPITE CARE Deployment Respite Care is available for children registered with CYS Services whose parent/sponsor is deployed, on TCS, PCS or TDY (90-179 days) orders or a Service Member of the deployed unit. Sixteen free hours of care is available per month, per child, during the deployment. A copy of the Service Member‘s orders must be provided. The CDC opens twice a month for this service. The normal cost of hourly care is $4.00 per hour will apply; payment must be made in advance. This service may be utilized by other patrons whose children are registered for hourly care. Reservations are required and may be made up to two weeks in advance. Care is available for children 6 weeks - 5th grade. Due to space limitations, paid reservations may be bumped to make room for deployed Service Member‘s reservations. If this should occur, advance payments will be refunded. There is FREE childcare service two nights per month for any FRG member who would like to utilize the service to attend an FRG meeting. To utilize the service your child must be registered with CYS Services and reservations must be made no later than 12:00 pm the week before the date of the opening. Now – Oct 31CORPORATE MINIATURE GOLF TOURNAMENTSThe Rec Plex wants you to team up for a fun and energizing team building opportunity at the Corporate Miniature Golf Tournament. The Rec Plex miniature golf course is a superb environment for a great team building experience with some friendly competition. Book your slot now through October 31 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am! Now – Sept 1EMPLOYEE NOOTIME LEAGUEDaugherty Bowling Center’s Employee Noontime League is in session. League is a two person team; each team will bowl 2 games each Thursday during lunch. Now – August 30LADIES GOLF FUN LEAGUE Piney Valley Golf Course’s Ladies Golf Fun League is in session. League will run through August 30 every Tuesdays at 5:00 pm. Registration fee is $30 for non-members / $20 for members. There will be weekly fees which are based on pay grade. The fun league is great for team building, a stress reliever, or just to hang out with friends, coworkers, and/or family. There will be an end of the league banquet dinner and trophies for winners. Weekly theme based field trips include but are limited to, Miner Mike’s, Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area, Kokomo Joe’s, Pizza Hut, Meramac Caverns, MacCreeds Art Gallery in Lebanon, Baker’s Seed Company, and more. Now – August 15ESPRIT DE CORPS GUIDON TOURNAMENT SIGN-UPSign up for Daugherty Bowling Center’s Esprit De Corps Guidon tournament beginning August 15. This is an 8-week, 9-pin no tap/scratch tournament. Winner will hang their Guidon proudly at the Daugherty Bowling Center and win a trophy to display at their Commander’s office. Tournament is from 6:30 pm -9:00 pm. Cost is $2.50 per game, 3 games per person will be played. Tournament is open to authorized personnel and their guest. Now – August 2ZUMBA CLASSES REGISTRATION (Ages 4-18)Sign your youth up for Zumba classes, youth will have fun in this rockin’ and high-energy fitness packed with specially choreographed routines for kids and teens they can move to the music they love. Cost is $18 per child, per month. Classes are held twice a month at the Audie Murphy’s Community Center. Registration deadline is the day before class starts. Mini flag football is a great opportunity for your child to learn to play and work as a team as well as learn the basics of football. Sessions are held at the Pippin Youth Center on Tuesdays for 3 yrs. old and Thursdays for 4-5 yrs. old from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Mini flag football is a parent participation program. Month of JulyANGER DANGER The Army Community Service is hosting Anger Danger, an anger management class that will help you learn the definition of anger, the causes and effects, techniques to manage anger, the power of forgiveness, and how relationships are affected by anger. Month of JulyBEAT THE XTREME HEATBeat the heat at the Daugherty Bowling Center with X-treme lights and cool temperatures. For the month of July enjoy 2 hours of X-treme family bowling with laser lights, music, plus a large one topping pizza and 4 small beverages for $40, for up to 6 persons per lane, every Thursday nights from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Month of JulyEDGE SUMMER TOP CHEF JUNIOR PROGRAM REGISTRATION (Grades 1-12)The CYS Services EDGE program will be offering a Summer Top Chef Junior for youth in grades 1-12. Participants will learn cooking methods and explore different food in preparation for the month of July-August. Youth in grades 1-5 will meet Tuesday and Thursday and youth in grades 6-12 will meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm at the Audie Murphy’s Community Center. Program fee may vary. Space is limited, so sign up today at the Parent Central Services located in Bldg. 470 in Rm. 1126. Youth must be registered with CYS Services. Month of July AUGUST EDGE PROGRAM REGISTRATION (Grades 6-12)CYS Services has partnered up with other MWR facilities to bring the youth of the Fort Leonard Wood community the EDGE Program. This monthly program offers after school opportunities for youth to Experience, Develop, Grow and Excel by participating in cutting-edge activities. Program begins August. Participants must be registered with CYS Services. Open to registered youth in grades 6-12. Program is FREE unless otherwise specified. For more information call 596-0200. Adventure EDGE! – Water Wonders Week Time! Youth will take a trip to Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA) for some fun in the sun with water activities. Program will run August 1-5 from 10:00 am - 4:30 pm. Cost is $80 per child. Registration deadline is July 25.Adventure EDGE! – Robotics. It’s technology time! Youth will learn about Lego Mindstorms Robotics; how to build and program their robots. Program will run from August 8-12 at the Pippin Youth Center from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm. FREE. Registration deadline is July 28.Fit EDGE! –Bowling! Youth will go bowling at Daugherty Bowling Center from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Program will run from August 22-26. FREE. July 2STARS & STRIPES 5K/10K RUNKick off your Independence Day weekend with a run at the Stars & Stripes 5K/10K Run beginning at 6:00 am at Sports Complex B& C. Cost is $10 per person. First 200 paid participants will receive a t-shirt. Run is open to the public. Watch our Stars & Stripes Softball Tournament at 10:00 am at Complex B. Register at the Davidson Fitness Center or call 596-7444.

July 25 on 5 PAINTBALL TOURNAMENTGear up for Outdoor Adventure Center’s annual 5 on 5 Paintball Tournament. Cost is $20 per team. Registration begins at 10:00 am; tournament begins at 11:30 am. Each team will be entered in a drawing for door prizes and a plaque to 1st and 2nd place winners. Paintball challenge is a great way to build Esprit de Corps and morale among team members. July 2STARS & STRIPES SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTIn celebration of 4th of July, Family & MWR Sports and Fitness will be hosting a Stars & Stripes Softball Tournament at 10:00 am at Softball Complex B located at the corner of Nebraska and Minnesota Avenue. Prizes will include team trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Individual awards for first and second place. For more information call 596-7444.

July 4RED, WHITE, & BLUE GOLF TOURNAMENTThe Piney Valley Golf Course is hosting a Red, White & Blue Golf Tournament in celebration of Independence Day; shot gun beginning at 9:00 am. Tournament is a two person scramble, teams will tee off of red tees, white tees, and blue tees. Each set of tees will be using different formats. If sufficient teams enter different flights will be made to score. Cost to join is $35 per person, non-members / $30 per person-members; cost includes golf carts, meal & gift certificates. July 44th OF JULY BOWLING

Celebrate 4th of July at Daugherty Bowling Center; bowl during the day and step outside for an evening of fireworks display. July 44th OF JULY CAR SHOW Check out the great rides at Family & MWR 4th of July Car Show held at the Gammon Field from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Car show is FREE and open to the public. Stay for a FREE concert, fireworks, games & activities for the entire family. For more information call 596-0243.

July 4MWR INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONThe Family & MWR and Fort Leonard Wood invite you to join us for our Annual MWR Independence Day Celebration beginning at 3:00 pm at the Gammon Field. Celebrate the 235th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with various games and activity and events for the entire family to include rides, frisbee dog shows, petting zoo, pony rides, hot dog eating contest, car show and more and check out performances from various local bands. The Salute to the Union will begin at 7:00 pm, followed by the U.S. Army Soldier Show at 7:30 pm with fireworks at 9:00 pm. Concessions from various vendors and a variety of booths will be available. So come out; bring your lawn chairs and/or blanket and enjoy a fun and Event is FREE and open to the public*. July 4 U.S. ARMY SOLDIER SHOWStep right up to the best show in town, Family and MWR present the 2011 U.S. Army Soldier Show. The entertainment for the Soldiers by the Soldiers is back once again to entertain our Soldiers and families on July 4th. Soldier entertainers will take audiences on a song and dance tour of carnivals across America and beyond. The U. S Army Soldier Show will take place at Gammon Field at 7:30 pm. July 5 – Aug 9SKIES UKULELE WORKSHOPThe SKIES Unlimited program’s Ukulele Workshop is in session every Tuesdays from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at the Audie Murphy’s Community Center. Youth will learn about the unique and widely known instrument and learn the joy of island music. Youth must own a ukulele. Youth must be registered with CYS Services. July 5 – 8EDGE: TOP CHEF JR. – SWEETS WEEK (Age 1-12) CYS Services Top Chef Jr. EDGE program is in session. July 8 COMMANDER’S GOLF SCRAMBLEPiney Valley Golf Course is hosting a Commander’s Golf Scramble with a 12:00 pm shotgun start. Scramble consists of a 4 person team. So bring your friends, co-workers or battle buddies for a great afternoon of golfing. Cost is $35 per person / $30 PVGC member includes greens fees and cart. Davidson Fitness Center is offering a place for your child(ren) can play while you achieve your fitness goals. An "Insight Child Care Area" is available Mon-Fri 8am-11am. An enclosed a play area will entertain your child while you exercise - no attendant is on hand - child MUST be in the parent/guardian's line of sight at all times.

Equipment OrientationMake the most of your workouts. Learn how to properly use the cardio and strength equipment. Free 30-Minute equipment orientations will be held at the Davidson Fitness Center and Specker Gym on Mondays at 9:00 am and Thursdays at 6:00 pm. For more information call 596-4359.

Aerobic ClassesA variety of aerobic classes are offered monthly at various times to fit your fitness level and your busy schedule.
