Re: Air RecirculationAs you can probably guess, a normal ventilation system uses fresh air dragged in from the outside to cool/ heat the interior. 'Air recirculation' basically does what is say's on the tin. Rather than bringing in fresh air, it recirculates the air inside the car, for the following benefits: • It can heat the car up quicker in winter (the heater matrix is heating warmed air rather than cold air) If you have air conditioning it will cool the interior quicker If the atmopshere is polluted, i.e. you are following a smelly bus, you can stop the smells getting into the car However, you should not use air recirculation for long periods of time because it increases the carbon monoxide levels in the car. This is because you breath Carbon Monoxide into the car, but the car keeps recirculating it. Also, in the winter the lack of fresh air means that the windows will get moisture on the inside. I don't use it for more than 5 minutes at a time On Sirius Radio, you can have 6 pres ets on each Sirius sub-s tation 1,2, or 3. A lot of music has very quiet bits and very loud bits - you will hear talk of fthe dynamic range, the ratio between the quietest and loudest sound. In noisy environments (cars, public transport etc) it is difficult to listen to music with a large dynamic range because if the volume is high enough to hear the quiet bits, the l oud bits are deafening. The average radio also does not cope well with dynamic music. Because (sadly) most people listen to music in the environments described above, record producers/masterers have taken to flattening the dynamics, making the quiet bits louder and the loud bits quieter. This makes music that sounds better in noisy environments and terrible elsewhere. Radio Data System, orRDS, is acommunications protocol standard for embedding small amounts ofdigital information in conventional FM radio broadcasts. RDS standardises several types of information transmitted, including time,station identification and programme information.
