    what is foursquare?

    foursquare aims to encourage people toexplore their neighborhoods and then rewardpeople for doing so. We do this by combiningour friend-finder and social city guide elementswith game mechanics - our users earn points,win mayorships and unlock badges for tryingnew places and revisiting old favorites.
