Who is ISE and why did we choose them?

O ISE (Intercultural Student Experiences) is a nonprofit educational organization.

O It has been around for over 40 years and has served over 90,000 individuals in more than 30 states.

O Their mission is to inspire and educate students of the world through experiential learning across cultures.

Why should students go on this trip?

O Students will experience a full cultural immersion – something that I cannot provide them in class.

O This trip will increase each student’s language ability and hopefully give them more confidence with the French language.

O Depending on the calendar, students will attend school abroad for a few days during their home stay!

Travel Information:

O Approximate Dates: March 28 – April 6, 2013. Dates depend on flight availability and approved spring break date

O Tentative Itinerary: O DAY 1 Depature: En route to Cagnes-sur-mer.

O DAYS 2 & 6 Family Stay: Travel to your homestay community to begin your 5-day Family Stay! Put your language to work while experiencing real everyday activities with a French family! (Meals at home)

O DAYS 7-9 Paris: Revel in the enchanting "City of Lights" while you stroll down the Champs-Elysées, enjoy the priceless treasures of the Louvre, visit the awesome Notre Dame Cathedral and so much more! (1B)

O DAY 9 Paris: Enjoy one last day of shopping and sightseeing in incredible Paris. Relax with your travel partners at the ISE farewell dinner. (B,D)

O DAY 10 Return: Transfer to the airport, depart for U.S. (B)

Trip Logistics – Who Can Go?

O Sophomores, French III or higherO Must not have prior disciplinary

problemsO Must display maturity and

seriousness in educationO Code of conductO Must sustain a B average in French

Trip Logistics: How will students prepare?

O Parent meetingsO 1-2 hour long after school meetings each

month conducted in French to discuss:O The history of our areas of travelO Travel vocabulary, language, food, slang, etc.O Cultural differences and scenarios to help

adapt to the family stay*Once next year’s schedule is set, the meeting dates/times will be scheduled. Coaches and advisors will be notified ahead of time.
