Important LGHS Facts
All freshman year courses are year-long. Each course equates to 5 units per semester; freshmen
generally earn 60-70 units during ninth grade. 220 units and fulfillment of all subject-specific requirements is
the graduation minimum. A minimum grade of D- is required to earn units toward
graduation; four-year colleges and universities require a minimum grade of C- for most courses.
Failed courses earn no units, but are calculated in the GPA and remain on the transcript.

Student Support Tutorial: Every day from 9:35-10:10. An opportunity for
students to seek out any of their six or seven teachers from whom they need assistance.
Tutor Lists: Peer Tutors: One-on-one tutoring with an LGHS student. Lists are
available through the Guidance Office. Professional Tutor Lists: Maintained by the Library-Student
Center, available through the Guidance Office.
Freshman Support: A class designed to assist students who have received an F or multiple Ds on a given progress report.
CASSY: Licensed MFTs and LCSWs who help students and families meet their socioemotional counseling needs.
House Support: Go-to place for questions and assistance.
