Worship Exalts God and Transforms Worshipers

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18, NASB

Transformation Occurs as We Respond to God’s Glory

So Take A Good Look At God

Make A Glorifying Response To God

MAKE A GLORIFYING RESPONSE TO GOD

If you have genuinely taken the time to contemplate the beauty of God's nature, character and ways, you will desire to surrender your entire devotion to Him. An appropriate glorifying response to God will be the natural complement that results from a heavenly glimpse of the King.

How should we respond in worship?

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe."

Hebrews 12:28

ADORE HIM WITHADORE HIM WITH PRAISEPRAISE

"Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;

bring an offering and come into his courts.Worship the LORD in the splendor of his

holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.”

Psalm 96:7-9"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,

to receive power and wealthand wisdom and strength and honor and glory and

praise!”Revelation 5:12

Page 10: From Glory to Glory

“The perspective of praise is none other than the throne room of the universe where we see God sitting on a throne! God reigns! That is the foundation of praise, its fountain-head. When we see God as he is, we will praise God as we ought! ...The absence of praise simply means that someone has an inadequate view of God.” --- Jack Taylor

2 Sam. 6: 1 David again brought together all the able young men of Israel—thirty thousand. 2 He and all his men went to Baalahin Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of the LORD Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark.

Page 17: From Glory to Glory

3 They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart 4 with the ark of God on it, and Ahio was walking in front of it. 5 David and all Israel were celebrat-ing with all their might before the LORD, with castanets, harps, lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals.

Page 18: From Glory to Glory

6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God.

8 Then David was angry because the LORD’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah (“Outbreak against Uzzah”)

Make a glorifying response of REPENTANCE!

When Isaiah saw the brilliance of God's majesty and holiness, he could not help but note the dark shadow of his own sin. "`Woe to me,' I cried, `I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD almighty'" (6:5).

Repentance is the norm

•Moses prayed, "although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance" (Exodus 34:9).

•Job replied, "My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes" (Job 42:5,6).

•David petitioned, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (Psalm 139:23,24 KJV).
