I have chosen this image for my magazine front cover as I feel it shows one of the most exciting parts of the movie and will grab the reader’s attention. It doesn’t fit on the page however, so I will have to add a

black background.

I added the background and the masthead. The masthead is very conventional and stretches across the whole page. It is large and bold, so it has the biggest impact. It is also coloured white to contrast with the background. I chose to put the UK inside the F, which is an interesting design and looks better than having

UK FILM.

I added a skyline which mentions the names of films covered in this issue. The readers will see this and then have to read the magazine to find out more. I placed the main cover line at the bottom of the picture

to anchor it. It is consistent with the masthead, using the same font and colour. Below the cover line I added two lines which describe the article. This will make readers more interested in the article.

I added 5 more minor cover lines around the sides of the cover. This is conventional as it will attract more readers. The titles of the articles are one or two words and are in a bold white font, while the descriptions

are smaller and not bold. This allows the reader to quickly read the titles to decide whether they are interested.

It is vital for magazines to have institutional information if they wish to sell. This includes the date of issue, price and barcode. I added the date and price on either side of the page below the title, so as not to clutter the bottom, and added the barcode and issue number in the bottom right corner, which is a

conventional location.
