Knowledge is power! One of the things that I want to provide is information on what you should be fueling your body with to be a ball of energy throughout each day! There are 3 types of nutrients that our bodies need. 1. Macro Nutrients 2. Micro Nutrients 3. Super Food Nutrients Macro Nutrients are foods that we eat in grams they give us energy each day and are like the gas to a car. They are proteins and amino acids, carbs, and fats. Micro Nutrients are foods that we eat in mg or micro grams, they keep our body running more smoothly and are like the lubricant to keep a car running. They are vitamins and minerals. Super Food Nutrients are critical for optimal health and are used to keep a balanced diet. We used to be able to eat a balanced diet by eating macro nutrients, but because our foods are processed differently, we now need nutrient dense foods to get the nutrients we need. Here are some examples of problems with the way most of America eats. Problem # 1 There is not enough protein eaten in the mornings. Protein is essential in the morning to feed the brain to be more focused, have more energy, and reduce cravings in the afternoons. Most people focus on carbs for breakfast foods, such as a bagel, toast, cereal, etc. Studies have shown that you are more likely to have cravings in the afternoon and choose to eat for hunger and satisfaction instead of a balanced diet and balanced nutrients. Problem # 2 Packaged/Processed foods are easy when you are busy or need something convenient. The definition of processed = nutrients stripped and chemical preservatives added, too many refined carbs, such as sugar and processed flour, little protein, too many calories. The only advantage is that it’s cheap, but has no nutrients so it’s actually expensive because it has no value! Problem # 3

Knowledge is power! One of the things that I want to provide is information on what you

should be fueling your body with to be a ball of energy throughout each day!

There are 3 types of nutrients that our bodies need.

1. Macro Nutrients

2. Micro Nutrients

3. Super Food Nutrients

Macro Nutrients are foods that we eat in grams they give us energy each day and are like

the gas to a car. They are proteins and amino acids, carbs, and fats.

Micro Nutrients are foods that we eat in mg or micro grams, they keep our body running

more smoothly and are like the lubricant to keep a car running. They are vitamins and

minerals.

Super Food Nutrients are critical for optimal health and are used to keep a balanced diet.

We used to be able to eat a balanced diet by eating macro nutrients, but because our

foods are processed differently, we now need nutrient dense foods to get the nutrients we

need.

Here are some examples of problems with the way most of America eats.

Problem # 1

There is not enough protein eaten in the mornings. Protein is essential in the morning to

feed the brain to be more focused, have more energy, and reduce cravings in the

afternoons.

Most people focus on carbs for breakfast foods, such as a bagel, toast, cereal, etc. Studies

have shown that you are more likely to have cravings in the afternoon and choose to eat

for hunger and satisfaction instead of a balanced diet and balanced nutrients.

Problem # 2

Packaged/Processed foods are easy when you are busy or need something convenient. The

definition of processed = nutrients stripped and chemical preservatives added, too many

refined carbs, such as sugar and processed flour, little protein, too many calories. The only

advantage is that it’s cheap, but has no nutrients so it’s actually expensive because it has

no value!

Problem # 3

Fresh foods are less nutritious today than they were 20 years ago. Soils minerals are

depleted due to overfarming, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides.

Too many empty calories, not enough nutrients causes weight gain, cravings, bad health,

and disease. Foods that are nutrient dense have less calories, for example: Breakfast as

eggs and raspberries vs bagel and coffee.

Superfoods are the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. They have a high

concentration of multiple nutrients that are essential for our bodies. Some examples are

raspberries, blueberries, cherries, acai berry, goji berry, camu-camu, and all of these

superfoods are found in Shakeology.
