• A region growing processing to segment color images

• A region – Fuzzy subset of connected pixels – Constructed using color information

• To guide the region growing process – Distance defined in color space is used

• The color distance is used both– To select the pixels which will be linked in each step– To calculate membership degree at each point to each region
