Who says learning about culture and heritage is no fun forkids?

Families who come with their children for the May 25 Gabii saKabilin (Night of Heritage) can find demonstrations and handi-crafts for young ones in seven venues.

They can try weaving palm leaves for puso or decorate a carroza.Watch how a bugsay (boat paddle) is made or play a game of sung kawith sea shells.

These hands-on activities are designed to let children exploreand use their senses and imagination, play games and create tra-ditional Filipino handicrafts.

“Understanding your culture also gives you a sense of belong-ingness, a sense of security, which is very important for kids tohave,” said Amaya Aboitiz, executive director of the Dolores AboitizChildren's Fund (DACF) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.which is mounting these activities in collaboration with some ofthe participating museums and heritage sites.

Kids below 7 years old can join for free.Children 7 years old and above need to purchase Gabii sa Kabilin
