Olympic Podium Programme (CAMPAIGN)

Athletes can only be nominated to the Podium programme on the basis of their predicted Tokyo performance.

The minimum standard for consideration for nomination to the Olympic Podium Programme is:

Note 1 The achievement of multiple medal winning performances at WTS events considered by GB Triathlon to be the best indicator of a capable of bridging the gap to achieve medal success in the Tokyo Games. This must occur in the same calendar year.

Achieving the minimum standards set out in the table below will not guarantee selection onto the WCPP. An athlete’s suitability for inclusion on programme will be determined by the WCPP Nomination Committee. The factors to be evaluated can be found in WCPP Triathlon Selection Process 2017 - 18

Olympic Podium Potential Programme (CONFIRMATION)

UK Sport defines Podium Potential as athletes possessing the potential to win an Olympic medal within the next two Olympic cycles. This will be evidenced through robust performance profiling.

Achieving the minimum standards set out in the table below will not guarantee selection onto the WCPP. An athlete’s suitability for inclusion on programme will be determined by the WCPP Nomination Committee. The factors to be evaluated can be found in WCPP Triathlon Selection Process 2017 - 18

Note1 An athlete(s) who meets the Minimum Criteria for ‘GB Triathlon Pilot Athlete

Programme’ and has been identified as having the appropriate ‘capabilities and qualities’ to perform this role, or the ability to develop these capabilities, will then be assessed against the GB Triathlon Tokyo 2020 Pilot Athlete Programme.

Note2 1st yr U23 athletes on Band C will be considered for Band C for the following year if they meet the performance criteria for U23 at Band D. This only applies to their first year of U23 racing and is designed to support a transition year of training and competition load that requires Olympic distance racing

Note3 1st yr U23 athletes on Band D will be considered for Band D for the following year if they meet the performance criteria for U23 at Band E. This only applies to their first year of U23 racing and is designed to support a transition year of training and competition load that requires Olympic distance racing
