Message from the CEOAs we enter our 19th year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our customers and vendor partners for their continued support. Our business exists because of you and it is our goal to continue to provide excellent customer service, new products and services, and to work together successfully.

GCOMM has a proud history in servicing its customers in both the local South East Queensland market and nationally through our channel partner network. We pride ourselves in delivering first class enterprise Internet services, private networks, managed backup and technical solutions.

Over this past year GCOMM has welcomed many new partners and customers and we have also worked closely with our existing channel partner base to help them grow their businesses and differentiate their offerings.

In 2014, the IT industry witnessed significant and exciting growth in emerging markets such as managed services delivery, cloud services, business workflow improvement and IP telephony.

We have seen consolidation in the telecommunications market, a rapid uptake of fibre based services, the implementation of NBN and the convergence of voice, video, data and applications. As these technologies mature, GCOMM will deliver greater reach and an increasingly differentiated product suite through our strategic wholesale partnerships with major carriers such as Telstra, AAPT and Optus.

We continue to focus on adding value and improving service delivery and provisioning systems. Accordingly we have added more technical resources and members to the team in order to provide faster response and better service to our customers. We will continue to build these resources in 2015 and our team will significantly grow over the next period, which is in line with our company growth goals.

GCOMM continues to stand by its strong network performance and has made significant investment in upgrading its national core network as the advent of new technologies and the increasing reliance on time sensitive processing in the cloud requires consistent performance. We have also significantly invested in our LiveBackup infrastructure increasing our storage capacity and product capabilities as more businesses look to automate and outsource the management of their data.

In the year ahead GCOMM will continue building its CRM, order management and ERP systems on the Salesforce.com platform which will provide greater interaction and visibility to our customers.

Once again, thank you for your support and we look forward to serving you in 2015 and beyond.

Data centre upgradeOver the past year we continued to invest in our national network and enhanced its capabilities and scalability.

We performed a power upgrade and a complete electrical refresh at our data centre on the Gold Coast. This included installing a new UPS, upgrading backhaul capacity in order to ensure even more redundancy and implementing advanced state of the art monitoring systems.

In addition, GCOMM has expanded its Points-of-Presence (PoPs) to NextDC B1 in Brisbane, Equinix in Melbourne and has secured an additional full cage in Equinix SY3 in Sydney. This expansion means we now have 10 PoPs across Australia in order to be able to service our customers with more connectivity options and enhanced redundancy.

Salesforce ImplementationForming a part of our commitment to enhance GCOMM’s operations we successfully implemented the first stage of our new software platform built on Salesforce. Key highlights included the migration of our financial systems, improvements in our ticketing system and the addition of a wholesale customer portal which provides valuable documentation and product information. Recently we built a fibre check tool which allows our team members to enter location details and quickly obtain fibre optic service options for that site, improving the turnaround time and accuracy of customer service qualification requests. Many further enhancements will be released throughout 2015.

NBN2014 saw GCOMM provision many new NBN services across Australia. This connectivity option represents a shift in the way technology services are delivered and it is our commitment to provide Australian businesses with complete network coverage through best technology options.

IaaS Private ConnectThroughout 2014, GCOMM continued its effort to build the comprehensive product offering. We were proud to deliver a number of increased direct connects to multiple Infrastructure-as-a-Service providers including Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Softlayer, VMVault, Rackcorp and OrionVM. This means that our partners and customers can now connect and build a variety of hybrid and private cloud solutions on these platforms via secure private network connections with GCOMM.

We expanded our partner community nationally through the addition of a number of new successful partners with the most significant growth in NSW over the past 12 months.

In order to better support this growing market, GCOMM is excited to announce its expansion into Sydney with the opening of a new Sydney office early this year. This will allow our Sydney based team to work in a new dedicated environment, with the goal of enabling GCOMM to continue its forecasted growth in NSW.

We have increased our network footprint into Melbourne with the expansion of a new PoP and infrastructure into Equinix M1. It is our goal to add more service capabilities for our Victorian partners in 2015.

The June award led GCOMM to become one of the finalists in the yearly awards ceremony which was held at the Gala Awards Dinner at Jupiters Hotel & Casino on 29th November 2014. Our team, represented by Dan (CEO), Todd (Sales Director) and Lachlan (Support & Provisioning Engineer) at the ceremony, had the honour of winning the annual award at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Award for the Knowledge Management and IT category.
