Geological Data Loading

Course DescriptionThe one-day Geological Data Loading course is designed primarily for geoscience technicians and interpreters responsible for creating Kingdom projects and loading cultural, well, log, and production data into Kingdom. The course assumes that students have a fundamental understanding of the data types used in this class.

The Geological Data Loading course includes hands-on exercises and covers the following topics:

• Create a Kingdom project, including establishing project extents, setting project options, selecting an XY projection method, setting user preferences, and understanding the concept of authorship.

• Import cultural data in various formats, including Landmark ASCII, Autocad DXF, ESRI Shape, and Geo–tiff files and editing and managing culture groups and layers.

• Display additional geospatial data using Web-Mapping Services.

• Import ASCII formatted well locations and IHS Energy well data, as well as importing other types of well data such as deviation surveys, time-depth charts and formation tops in ASCII format.

• Import digital log curves and raster logs, calibrate raster logs, and edit and add formation picks on rasters logs.

• Load IHS– and ASCII–formatted monthly production data, view monthly and cumulative production data, and edit existing production data.

• Use PAKnotes to attach various types of documentation (Word docs, Excel files, PowerPoints, and graphic files) to a Kingdom project.
