Baden-BadenThe playground of Europe's royalty and aristocracy in the early 1800s, Germany's famed holiday-resort town of Baden-Baden, in the heart of the Black Forest, still draws thousands of tourists who come each year to relax in the waters.

Baden-Baden is home to several art museums, a concert hall, and the Castle Hohenbaden.

The Hohenbaden Castle, built in 1102, and known locally as the Altes Schloss (Old Castle), is an must-see! It was home from the 11th - 15th century to the Margraves of Baden. Discover dark, secret dungeons and tackle the winding staircases all the way up to the lookout point. Your reward, once here, will be a magnificent view of Baden-Baden, the Black Forest and the Rhine Valley.

Baden-Baden is also home to the famous casino, built in the 1850s in the style of the Palace of Versailles, and is worth-seeing while on holiday, even for those who do not gamble!

Baden-Baden CasinoWith a history dating back over 250 years and fashioned on the lines of French royal palaces, the Baden-Baden Casino is a temple to the game of chance. At one time, real silver and gold chips were used in the gaming. The games available are casino favourites e.g. roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker.

The Baden-Baden is the oldest casino in Germany. The Madame Pompadour Room at the casino is even named after the mistress of Louis XV. In 1872, the German government ordered the closing of all German casinos. It would be another 61 years, in 1933, that it would be reopened. It was open until 1944 and then closed again until 1950.

Der kleine prinz fc Is there anyone who does not know Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s charming story “The Little Prince”? In Baden-Baden, the Rademacher family even took the famous book as an inspiration for decorating their hotel. Each one of the 40 charming rooms and suites has its own individual note, character and atmosphere as well as all modern conveniences you would expect. No two rooms are alike. Each has its own decor and none of the rooms are standard. You will experience a truly unique atmosphere, personal attention and perfect service!

Day 2 Weimar – DresdenAfter breakfast, drive to Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony. On a city tour you will see one of the loveliest cities of central Europe. (B)

Day 3 Dresden – Wittenberg – potsdam – BerlinToday we return to the traces of Luther and visit Wittenberg where the Reformation started on 31.10.1517 when Martin according to history, nailed his 95 Theses to the portal of the Castle Church. After a walk through the narrow streets of the Schnoor Quarter with tiny houses, we turn onto the famous German Fairy Tale Route. In the afternoon we arrive in Hamelin, a city known for the Pied Piper, another legend appeared in the writings of the Brothers Grimm. German CHristmas marketsThe magical world of traditional German Christmas Markets is casting more visitors under its spell every year. The historic Christmas Markets, held in cities, towns and villages throughout the country, are becoming increasingly more popular, due, no doubt, to the enchanting Festive Season atmosphere they evoke.

The Christmas fairs and markets of Germany are unique. If you're tired of commercialism taking over this holiday period and would like to get right away for a real traditional and romantic Christmas Market, you may wish to consider heading to Germany where gifts are not mass-produced but craft work of real quality!

Here you can purchase all kinds of Christmas merchandise and gifts, especially traditional things such as crib figurines, toys, wood carvings, marionettes, candles and lambskin shoes. Many are difficult to resist - as will be the glass of delicious mulled wine you are offered and the baked apples that are very welcome on crisp winter days.

The ambience is further enhanced by the aromas of hot chestnuts, grilled sausages and other tasty snacks! Youngsters especially, will be attracted to the gingerbread biscuits known as Lebkuchen, marzipan figures and other sweets.
