Getting started with myGK, AWS, and QwikLabs Accessing Course Materials and Labs
Begin by logging into the myGK portal at https://mygk.globalknowledge.com login info should have been sent to the email address that was registered for the course.
Click on “Learning”
Click the current “Active” course (you may have more than one listed)
Click on “Training Materials” to access your eVantage redemption code for the student and lab guide
Grab the license key then head over to https://evantage.gilmoreglobal.com/#/user/registration and create an eVantage user account (or use a preexisting account if you have one already). Once logged into eVantage look for the “Redeem” link, enter the license code from earlier.
For offline access to the material you’ll want to download and install the Bookshelf application from https://support.vitalsource.com/hc/enus/articles/201344733BookshelfDownloadPage and log into it using your eVantage account.
Accessing the QwikLabs environment
Click on “Course Labs” and then choose a lab to run
Make sure to [Start] the lab. When finished building/creating, click on CONNECTION
Click on [Open Console] to link over to AWS. Sometimes the credentials will carry over, confirm that they did or enter them to continue logging into the management console.
Check back here later on when it’s time to log into your instances, you’ll need to download the PEM/PPK file
Make sure not to copy out of the lab guide, use the Command Reference File instead
REMINDER: A lab session should always be stopped by clicking on [End]. Additionally, close any active AWS Management Console tabs or browser windows when finished with each lab. The labs are not cumulative, do not reuse lab sessions; always [Start] a new one.
