Glidevale profile dedicated G range tileand slate ventilators are designed to

ventilate through the roof slope and form anintegral part of the roof covering.

The tile and slate ventilators can be used atlow level or high level where the roofconstruction does not allow eaves or ridgeventilators to be used, such as wherecompartment walls or fire break wallsobstruct airflow. They are particularlysuitable for insulation upgrades when theroof covering is not being changed andrecommended by the Energy EfficiencyPartnership for Buildings as the solution forensuring adequate ventilation is provided.They are also used in complex roof shapeswhere effective cross-ventilation is not possible.

The range of ventilators can also be used assoil vent pipe or mechanical extract terminalswith separately supplied accessories.

Composition, ManufactureManufactured from ABS and polypropylenematerial for a high quality finish and robustconstruction. All exposed surfaces arecoated with a durable water based colourblended surface treatment. This surfacetreatment has been used on all GlidevaleVentilators for over 20 years, and after thistime shows only a marginal lightening ofshade which is usually counteracted by theeffect of atmospheric pollution on the roofcovering itself. All tile and ridge ventilatorshave silica sand entrained in the multi coatcoating. Slate ventilators have a smoothfinish.

AppearanceThe ventilators match the roof tiles or slatesin size, shape and colour, and all types areavailable for tiles or slates. See table for fullrange of standard profiles. Tile and ridgeventilators have silica sand entrained in amulti-coat water based environmentallyfriendly uv-resistant coating, to helpweather more closely with the surroundingtiles over time. Slate ventilators have asmooth finish.

Roof pitchG Range Tile and Slate Ventilators aresuitable for roof pitches between 20° and60°. For other pitches consult our Technical Department.

Underlay Opening ProtectorSupplied with G Range tile and slateventilators to maintain the function of theunderlay where it is cut to allow for theUniversal Extension Sleeve. Any moisturethat may penetrate the roof covering higherup the slope and run down the underlay issafely diverted round the opening, incompliance with BS 5250.

Universal Extension SleeveShould always be used with G Range tileand slate ventilators. It ensures that the roofunderlay is cut and that there is acontinuous permanent weatherproof pathfrom the roof void to the outside withoutimpairing the weatherproof function of thestructure, in accordance with BS 5250.Supplied separately and snap-fits to theunderside of the ventilator on site beforethe ventilator is installed.

Description, ApplicationsGlidevale Flat Roof Terminals act as outletsfor soil vent pipes, passive ventilationstacks or mechanical extract ventilationducts.There are options for installation directly onthe roof deck with integral prefabricatedupstand or for installation on a builder’skerb. They can be used for warm or colddeck roofs with built-up roofing (single ormulti-ply); with builder’s kerb they can be used with fully-supported metal roofing.The prefabricated upstand providesminimum 150mm clear upstand.Terminals have a 4mm large insect grille,and condensation grooves which preventcondensate running back down the duct.
