What is global warming?

•The earth’s temperature is rising (getting hotter.)

•It is 6 degrees hotter than 80 years ago.

•As the temperature gets hotter, the icy places will melt.

•There is more water in the sea, and the sea level is rising.

How is this a problem for

the planet ? •Global warming makes water rise and it

may cause flooding. It increase the of Earth’s average surface temperature due to Greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases keep heat close to the Earth’s surface making it liveable for humans and animals. The Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere which makes the Earth warmer.

Is global warming bad?

•The earth needs to be warm for us (and plants) to survive.

•However, as there is more pollution, it is getting too hot.

•As more gasses are produced, the temperature will continue to rise.

How are extra gases produced?

•Burning petrol and coal (fossil fuels)

•Cutting down Rainforests

•Vehicles giving off carbon dioxide

•Aerosol sprays

•Global warming can affect animals like: Polar Bears, Penguins, Arctic Foxes, Seals and Walruses. It can affect Antartica by wrecking homes from melting ice, because of the Greenhouse gases which is made from carbon dioxide.

Who does this affect?

What could happen?• Sea levels will rise

• Ice caps will melt.

• Coastal areas will flood.

• Lakes and rivers may dry up

• Crops and plants may die

• There will be less water for drinking

• Plants and animals will become extinct

• More volcanoes and earthquakes.

• Habitats for animals may be damaged.

•We can stop Global warming from happening maybe by programming a Thermostat. A Thermostat will quickly lower the heat or air conditioning at night. Or another idea is cleaning filters and a air conditioner. Cleaning a dirty air filter can save you 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. We could also use solar panels that conducts energy that can be captured. cars that are electric like have hydrogen engines that produces clean water then carbon dioxide.

How can we stop it?

What can we do to make it better?

•We can make it better by using less gas and recycling rubbish then throwing it away. Using less factories and fume pipes.
