Introduction2009 was a momentous year for GlobeBusters. Our 3rd Trans Americas Expedition saw record numbers of riders participate and we travelled through Colombia for the first time, as well as taking on Copper Canyon in Mexico and incorporating some of the Dakar Rally liaison routes between Chile and Argentina. We have travelled the Trans Americas route for over ten years now, have been featured on National Geographic in a six part series and are the only motorcycle adventure travel company with proven experience of leading groups on this epic journey so if you want the Original Trans Americas experience, we are the only people to come with! once in a lifetime experience. You can book this through us too.
And remember, booking with GlobeBusters is not just about the ride. Our pre-trip preparation is second to none. We deliver pre-trip meetings to explain everything you need to know about participating in your chosen expedition, together with our Guidance Handbook. As Travel Partners with World of BMW, we offer off road training, advanced riding courses and motorcycle first aid, as part of your expedition price, on certain expeditions. Its been an amazing, hectic, challenging and fulfilling year in 2009 for us personally and for our GlobeBusters Team and we are ready to deliver some more amazing motorcycle rides in the years to come! So join us and remember its not a holiday - its an adventure, !
Last year also saw another GlobeBusters team, Craig Carey Clinch and Barbara Alam, who successfully led the first GlobeBusters North & West Africa Expedition to Dakar in November 2008, busy on another research trip riding Trans Canada. From Vancouver to Halifax, via the Trans Labrador Highway, onto Newfoundland and then from St Johns back to Halifax. A hugely successful and challenging trip, this means that GlobeBusters Trans Canada is now on offer as from 2011.
2009 also saw the GlobeBusters Team research a pioneering new route for riders from London to Beijing, via Tibet. This is a route that very few Westerners have ever achieved on their own bikes and also incorporates the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan, reaching Everest Base Camp and riding into Lhasa. Silk Road East London to Beijing is another legendary route that you can do with GlobeBusters. Its the toughest expedition that we run - you need to be an experienced rider and traveller to participate, but the rewards are one hundredfold! Dont be disappointed that all the places have gone for the inaugural 2010 expedition, as you can book on this truly unique ride in 2011.

Why Ride with Globebusters? When you are planning your adventure of a lifetime, you need professional help from enthusiastic and expert motorcycle world travellers - that's GlobeBusters. Here are just some of the many reasons to travel with us.
Team Expertise The GlobeBusters Team is the best in the business experienced motorcyclists and drivers drawn from the core of the overland travel community. They have independently crossed continents, some have been part of the support teams for the Dakar Rallys best riders, others have extensive Off Road expertise by being part of the BMW Off Road Skills team in the UK or Germany. All are passionate about motorcycle travel. Each Expedition Team has the right combination of skills to ensure that you get the most out of your ride. Whether it is having skilled mechanical knowledge, remote first aid qualifications, giving out motorcycle travel tips, being great at managing a group, organizing fun nights out or remaining calm in a crisis, your Expedition Team will be there to try and ensure things run as smoothly as possible. In House Knowledge GlobeBusters plan and conduct research every expedition we operate. In house, we have selected each route to include a huge variety of terrain and potential challenges, have checked out each hotel and know where the best view points are, or where that last fuel stop is. We also have in place a comprehensive network to draw on local and direct contacts with BMW Motorrad across all regions and even if you ride a different brand of bike, we will support this too. We facilitate all bike servicing and tyre changes, sometimes ordering the right type of tyre months in advance, to ensure we are not caught out on the road. Extensive Preparation Your Expedition gets underway well before you reach the official start point! Our pre-expedition preparation is extensive and depending on which expedition you pick, can comprise a mix of BMW Off Road and Advanced Road Skills Courses, First Aid Training, motorcycle maintenance by Adventure Mechanics (Dakar Support Mechanic, Bernie Wright) and detailed Briefing Meetings. These meetings are exclusively for GlobeBusters clients (and their partners) and they mean that you will be fully prepared and will have made friends with fellow riders even before setting off. Ride Your Way En route, you set your own pace. You may choose to ride with the Expedition Leader and be accompanied or head out on your own, using our daily notes and GPS info. Either way is fine. There is no riding in convoy and no set stops - just some simple guidance for planning your day.
Comprehensive Support All our expeditions are accompanied by our own dedicated GlobeBusters support vehicle. It is capable of taking two bikes and two passengers, as well as carrying additional fuel, water, spare parts, camp & cook equipment, an extensive tool box and first aid kit. They are also equipped with a satellite phone. If unforeseen incidents en route mean things do not go quite to plan, we have proven experience in sorting it out and keeping the expedition on track. Sometimes it's as simple as getting a broken bike going, other times, there may be illness or injury to contend with. In the most difficult of situations, we are the team that you want by your side for assistance. We never abandon a rider and always strive to find the best possible solution for the individual and group if there is any emergency situation.3
