Students also viewed class items throughout the day. Parents/carers can view your child’s class performance via a link from 3:15pm today. End Of 2020 School Year Performances A You-Tube Login will be the means of accessing your child’s item and will be available for the viewing by the parents/carers of the child in that class only. Only parents in that class can view the item for a prescribed time frame. No parent is to share it on any social media platform. Year 6 Fun Day The Year 6 Fun Day will be held at school on Tuesday 15th December. This will include a student luncheon on our grounds brought over by the Gol Gol Hotel. Teachers, Tim Earl and Damien Gibson will organise a fun day for students. Traditional water fun will go ahead in the prescribed area from 2:50pm to 3:15pm. Only year 6 students and teachers who want to join in are involved. No water play is to occur outside of the designated grass area. 2021 School Year/Classes In 2021 we are formulating 8 classes across the school. The benefit of this set up is that no class will need to exceed 25 students in total and those in the early years of schooling will have 20. Subject to any teacher movement, the classes will be as follows: Kindergarten—Mrs Worrell, Kindergarten/Year 1—Ms Fundak, Year 1/2—Ms Kemp, Year 2/3 Mrs Blows, Year 3—Mr Earl, Year 4/5—Mr Thompson, Year 5/6 - Mrs McInerney, Year 6—Ms McKinnon. Significant areas of focus: will be Literacy, Numeracy, student wellbeing & inquiry learning. Staff Leave Mrs Cook is on leave until the end of the year Mrs Tilley is on 2/3C. Mrs Blows will be on leave from tomorrow. Coomealla High School Tour and Work Experience Our students enjoyed the work shops and concert put on by the Coomealla High school students last Monday. I was very impressed with the musicians and with the quality of their performances. Coomealla High School student Mia Thompson also completed work experience here last week and did an excellent job. Kinder 2021 Orientations The final Orientation Day involving students starting Kindergarten at Gol Gol PS in 2021 will take place on 11th of December from 9:00am till 12:00 noon Students are to be signed in and out at the school hall. The Uniform Shop, situated at the bottom level of the two storey building will be open from 8:30 am till 9:00 am and 12:00 noon till 12:30 pm on both days. Please observe social distancing guidelines whilst on school grounds. 9th December 2020

    Awards Recipients Congratulations to students who have received awards throughout the year and to those who received book awards and certificates today. To the outgoing Year 6 students, I wish you all the best for the future. Please refer to the attachment to this newsletter which outlines today’s award recipients, graduating students and 2021 captains. P&C Meeting The P&C are looking into a major raffle for the 2021 school year. Please speak to Nadia Wyatt, Mel Vandenberg or Belinda Schilling if you can assist in organising this raffle and prizes. The next Parent & Citizen (P&C) meeting will be held in February 2021 via zoom commencing 7.00 pm. I encourage your attendance through President Nadia Wyatt. For further information please contact Nadia Wyatt on 0438 662377. Adults On Site Social distancing rules still apply to all adults on school site. Only essential workers, those with permission and school staff should be on site. All adults must contact the school on 50248401 prior to arrival and must sign in if on site. Sickness No student or adult can attend or remain at school if they are sick or have any COVID like symptoms. There is a test site at the Midway. Students and teachers can return to school when they can produce a negative test result and they are well. Anyone not wishing to have their child tested must keep their child at home for ten days. Music/Library Stocktake Mrs Tilley is asking all families to check at home for any school recorders. They are to be returned to Mrs Tilley so that a stocktake can be completed. Mrs Mason also needs all books to be returned to the library. Community News/Community Band If any current student in Years 2-5 wishes to join the Band next year, please return the attached application form to Mrs Tilley by Friday 11th December. (Refer to Page 5, 6 and 7 of this newsletter.)
