Attack from the outside with speed through the “Scoring Door • We have more options when attacking from an angle 4. Two players driving to the net – both through the “Scoring Door” • Driving towards the backside post through the “Scoring Door” aligns you with an open net 5. 3 rd forward in zone creates the TRIANGLE formation • Creates space and options 6. Shots must hit the net! • Shots that miss the net result in turn-overs • Rebounds give us 2 shots on net versus 1 2. Rebounds • More goals are scored on rebounds than direct shots

Scoring Door: The space between the face-off dot and the top of circle1.Attacking through the “Scoring Door” puts you at the best angle to shoot on the goalie.2.Attacking through the “Scoring Door” forces the goalie to one side of the net, leaving the backside open.3.Attacking through the “Scoring Door” gives rebounds to the back side4.Attacking through the “Scoring Door” - 2nd guy to the net – aligns you with the rebound and the Open part of the net.

Players without the puck: What you do without the puck determines your success when you get the puck!

1.Always stay onside!• Off-sides kills our attack

2.2nd player to the blue line goes to the net through the weak-side “Scoring Door”

• Puck carrier and 2nd man in are both attacking through the “Scoring Doors”

3.3rd player to blue line completes the triangle4.Stop in front of the net!5.Shots must hit the net!

Neutral Zone: 1. Move the puck through the center ice circle through the neutral zone

• This creates options (Left side or Right side) and creates space• Pulls D to center of ice, opening up space for wings• Forces D to defend the whole width of the ice

*Weak side wing must drive throughweak side Scoring Door for best angle to shoot into open net

Attacking the Offensive Zone (priorities): Option #3: Pass to Trailer1.Gain the blue line2.Defenseman steps from backward toforward3.Pass back to trailing center4.Center immediately drives to middle5.Center has 3 options

1. Pass to weak side wing2. Pass back to strong side wing3. Shoot on net and crash for rebounds

*Important note, puck carrier must keepfeet moving (cross-overs) coming out ofpower turn to create space from D
