    To our extended Gamma Phi

    Beta FamilyHello sisters and parents,

This year has been extremely busy for Theta chapter, especially this spring! It is so hard to believe the school year isalmost over and summer is here! As a chapter we have beenable to accomplish many social events, philanthropies, academic achievements, stay involved on campus, and havesome fun while staying busy with all of that. Two successful

non-alcohol socials in the winter, an all-campus speaker inFebruary, Spagammi, chapter meetings, PACE and CrescentValues sessions, Crescent Classic, spring retreat, a 90s-themedsocial exchange with the men of Lambda Chi Alpha are only afew of the things we have been up to the past two quarters! Each year brings situations that challenge us or give usopportunities, and the women have gone above myexpectations in overcoming and taking advantage of eachsituation.

Our involvement with alumnae has made an incredibleimpact on the chapter this year! Alumnae have (cont.)

    Love. Labor. Learning. Loyalty.

(cont.) been working with Lalu Abebe,Education Vice President, to plan the Big Ievent when senior women are initiated intoalumnaehood. Additionally, our ever-dedicatedHouse Corporation Board has expanded toinclude several new members and improveThetas living space and environment. Thankyou alums! Executive council and the chapterare looking forward to including these womenin the collegiate realm even more next year with

recruitment activities, Founders Day, and otherchapter events.

My time as president has been anamazing experience! Thank you to the chapterfor giving me the opportunity to be your leaderthis year. Two goals executive council and I setwere to be more transparent to the entirechapter and hold one another and other chaptermembers accountable. Both of these have beenchallenging at times, but we are makingprogress in both areas. I like to meet or at least

touch base with all officers at least once aquarter, and I have been so impressed with allof the work officers have been doing. All of thewomen stay busy and are doing great things forthe chapter. We have also received surveyresults from a member satisfaction survey thatGamma Phi Beta International sends out to allcollegiate members. The results were very

helpful in providing feedback and helpingexecutive council and I to know our chaptersstrengths and areas for improvement. We willcontinue to look back at these results to be surewe are on track for maintaining and improvingthe chapter as much as possible.

As this school year winds down, we arealready beginning to plan for fall quarter 2009.A tentative calendar will be out soon to help usplan for all next term will bring! Recruitment

camp and formal recruitment will be here beforewe know it! Fall is also always full of socialevents, homecoming and parents weekend, new member education classes, initiation, campus activities and more. We are lookingforward to coming back from summer to a busyand fun fall!

Thank for all of your support andencouragement this year! I would not be able to

be president without everything family, friends, and sisters do for me. Please let me know if you

have questions, comments, or concerns. I wouldlove to have feedback to help make Theta assuccessful as possible!

    Sincerely,Kristen RousePresident, Theta Chapter

What Gamma Phi has been upto this year

    Academic Achievements

Gamma Phi Beta has continued to uphold our high

GPA and has remained at a higher ranking than the

the end of the quarter! Philanthropic Achievements

Our philanthropy events, including Spagammi and the

first annual Capture the Crescent has been successful

in including the entire DU campus in raising funds for

CampFire USA as well as the Make A Wish

Foundation. Thank you for the continued support from

    our alumnae!

Sisterhood EventsWhether it was an 80s themed rollerskating party or

movies at the house, this quarter continued to

demonstrate that GPB members take sisterhood

seriously! These fun events have helped us grow as

women and sisters, and create a open and

understanding house.A Look Ahead at Fall RecruitmentIts hard to believe that recruitment is already just
