g. Do you also say thank you to someone who gives you something? Why should you do it?

NANNY THE NUN

Nanny the nun, rode in a van.She brought some nuts and corn.

On her way home, she met a man.Who gave her ten corns more.

She thanked the man and asked for his name.He said “You’re welcome, my name is Dame.

Nanny, the nun was very glad.For the new and kind friend she had.

C. Post Activity

1. Application

a. Making a shopping list

Group the children into 5. Tell each group that they are going shopping

Ask each group to give a word that begins with /n/. The first person says “I went shopping, I bought a net.” The

second one says “I went shopping I bought a nail”. The game goes on until the last child is able to give a word. After giving words with initial /n/ the group will give words with final /n/.

Group leaders should note that no duplication of words should be made.

b. Introduce the play “Where Is It?”Material: paper with 3 columns

The purpose of the game is to help children differentiate sound position in words.

Tell the children that you are going to say several words. Each of these words has /n/, if the children hear the letter sound at the beginning, they will write n in the first column. If the sound is at the end, they will write n in the second column.

Use the following word list:
