Time 8.30am-9.30am Duration 1 hour Number of students 23 Level of Proficiency Average Lesson Summary The lesson is started by showing the students a series of flashcards. The teacher will ask the students what are the items in the flashcards. After that, students will be introduced the topic for today, which is common nouns and proper nouns. Teacher will write a short explanations about common and proper nouns on the whiteboard and tell the differences of both. Next, the students will be shown the same card from the set induction and this time they will have to group the flashcards into common noun or proper noun. The students will also be asked what are the other example of common and proper nouns that they know. In the practice stage, the students will be divided into five groups and each group will be given an envelope containing 20 different words, a manila card with table already drawn on it and glue. The students will have to classify the words into common or proper nouns by pasting the words on the manila card. After that, the teacher will review the answers with the students. The students will copy the table in their exercise book. In the production stage, the students will be given worksheet one, which is to circle the proper nouns and underline the common nouns. 3) Teacher will explain how common nouns are

different from proper nouns.

4) The students will be shown the same flashcards

from the set induction and students will classify

the flashcards orally and paste it on the

whiteboard.

5) The students will be asked what are the other

common nouns and proper nouns that they

know.

the cards on the whiteboard according to ist

respective table

1. Students will be divided into groups of four and

five (5 groups)

2. Each group is given one envelope with a set of

nouns

“Each group will get 1 envelope, 1 manila

card and glue”

3. Students must arrange all the nouns provided in

the envelope according to the two categories of

nouns.

“You must arrange all the common nouns

together and the proper nouns together.”

4. The words will be pasted on the manila card

provided using glue.
