Graphics & Captions Graphics make it easier for your reviewers to understand your ideas; help show the flow of ideas/aims, highlight important points, and convey your thinking and approach; and provide value in the time/effort you invest in incorporating these visuals. Captions should propel your proposal forward (rather than idle it with only labeling information). As most sponsor guidelines allow for smaller font sizes for captions, there are opportunities to help reviewers understand why your graphics are important to your proposal’s purpose and message. The following graphics not only complement the text in a compelling way, but their captions guide reviewers to the import of the graphic in telling the proposal story:
