Middle School Memories :)

Last Monday a freak accident happened at Mollala High Track. It was Philomath Middle School's last track and field meet. when two girls were practicing hand-offs for their first event, the 4x1 relay. When Kate and Anna were running at full speed to hand-off, a kid from another team (who's name will remain anonymous) stepped in front of Anna. The kid did not here Anna calling to him to move, so Anna stopped on her own. Having spikes on, it makes it much harder to stop.

Finally when Anna stuck her foot out to stop it didn't go well at all. Anna's spike got stuck in the track and tripped her. Anna flew forward about 7-10 feet before she had hit base withe the track again. Her fall resulted in a HUGE bruise on her right hip as well as a big scrape on her right elbow, and the numbness of three of her left fingers for about 3-5 hours.
