Με αυτό το σύνθημα, οι Έλληνες αιματολόγοι, ξεκινήσαμε εκστρατεία ενημέρωσης του κοινού και αφύπνισης της συλλογικής συνείδησης της κοινωνίας για θέματα που αφορούν τον εθελοντισμό και ειδικότερα την προσφορά αίματος,

αιμοποιητικών κυττάρων και ομφάλιου αίματος για τους ασθενείς που πάσχουν από αιματολογικά νοσήματα. Στη χώρα μας υπάρχει ανάγκη για αύξηση της εθελοντικής αιμοδοσίας, διεύρυνση της δεξαμενής εθελοντών δοτών μυελού των οστών και αύξηση των μονάδων ομφάλιου αίματος στις δημόσιες τράπεζες. Aυτά αποτελούν προϋπόθεση, ώστε να έχουμε επαρκές και ασφαλές αίμα και τη δυνατότητα ανεύρεσης

συμβατού μοσχεύματος για κάθε ασθενή που έχει ανάγκη μεταμόσχευσης αιμοποιητικών κυττάρων.Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκστρατείας, από 22 Μαΐου έως 20 Ιουνίου, επισκεφθήκαμε 16 πόλεις της Ελλάδας. Το πρώτο κύμα

κορυφώθηκε στην Αθήνα, 21-28 Ιουνίου, στη διάρκεια της Πανευρωπαϊκής Εβδομάδας κατά της Λευχαιμίας και του Λεμφώματος.Οι εκδηλώσεις περιλάμβαναν ενημέρωση του κόσμου με διανομή έντυπου υλικού, ομιλίες, ανοικτή αιμοδοσία

και εγγραφή νέων εθελοντών δοτών αιμοποιητικών κυττάρων. Σε πολλές πόλεις έγιναν εκδηλώσεις με την ευγενική προσφορά καλλιτεχνικών σωματείων και δημιουργία συμβολικής σταγόνας ζωής από ανθρώπινη αλυσίδα.

Με την ευγενική συμμετοχή ανθρώπων της τέχνης, αναγνωρίσιμων προσώπων, αλλά και καθημερινών ανθρώπων δημιουργήθηκε ένα φιλμ μικρής διάρκειας και ένα τηλεοπτικό μήνυμα ώστε να ενημερωθεί το ευρύ κοινό.

Πραγματοποιήθηκε ανάβαση στον Όλυμπο σε συνεργασία με τον Αθηναϊκό Ορειβατικό Σύλλογο και στην ψηλότερη κορυφή αναρτήθηκε πανό με το κεντρικό σύνθημα της εκστρατείας.

Στις εκδηλώσεις της Αθήνας, που πραγματοποιήθηκαν στην πλατεία Συντάγματος, κεντρική θέση είχε η Έκθεση Mail Art. Εκτέθηκαν 610 έργα που προσέφεραν ευγενικά 304 ζωγράφοι από 45 χώρες με θέμα «Άνθρωπος, Χρώμα, Μουσική»

και πουλήθηκαν σε συμβολική τιμή, για τους σκοπούς της Ελληνικής Αιματολογικής Εταιρείας.Στόχος μας είναι να συνεχιστεί η προσπάθεια αυτή το φθινόπωρο με την επίσκεψη όσο το δυνατόν

περισσότερων πόλεων και τη διοργάνωση έκθεσης ζωγραφικής στη Θεσσαλονίκη.Τις πιο ειλικρινείς μας ευχαριστίες θέλουμε να εκφράσουμε σε όλους τους ανθρώπους που βοήθησαν να γίνει πραγματικότητα

αυτή η εκστρατεία ενημέρωσης, προσφέροντας εθελοντικά χρόνο, κόπο, ένα κομμάτι από τον εαυτό τους. Ευχαριστούμε την Προεδρεία της Βουλής των Ελλήνων για την άδεια να σχηματίσουμε

μια «σταγόνα ζωής» με ανθρώπινη αλυσίδα στο προαύλιο του Κοινοβουλίου.Ευχαριστούμε θερμά το Δήμο Αθηναίων για την ευγενική παραχώρηση της Πλατείας Συντάγματος,

καθώς και τους Δήμους και τις τοπικές αρχές όλων των πόλεων, που επισκεφθήκαμε για την υποστήριξή τους. Ευχαριστούμε από καρδιάς όλους τους ανθρώπους της τέχνης, που προσέφεραν το χρόνο και το ταλέντο τους,

καθώς και όλους τους εθελοντές, που συμμετέχουν στο φιλμ και το τηλεοπτικό μήνυμα και βοηθούν να γίνει γνωστή η φωνή μας δημόσια. Ιδιαίτερα ευχαριστούμε τον εμπνευστή της Έκθεσης Ζωγραφικής, κύριο Κωνσταντίνο Καράμπελα-Σγούρδα, Διευθυντή του Μουσικολογικού

Ινστιτούτου Τζίνα Μπαχάουερ, τη Λέσχη Φίλων Χοσέ Καρρέρας Ελλάδας και την Πρόεδρό της κυρία Αθηνά Μιμίδου και βεβαίως την ψυχή αυτής της εξαίρετης έκθεσης, που συγκίνησε και εντυπωσίασε τον κόσμο, τη ζωγράφο κυρία Θωμαή Κόντου, η οποία επιμελήθηκε και έδωσε σάρκα

και οστά στην όλη διοργάνωση καθώς και όλους τους συνεργάτες της από τη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών. Θερμές ευχαριστίες και την ευγνωμοσύνη μας εκφράζουμε στους καλλιτέχνες που προσέφεραν απλόχερα την εξαίρετη δουλειά τους παίρνοντας κι αυτοί μέρος στην αλυσίδα μας.

Ευχαριστούμε όλους τους χορηγούς, που στάθηκαν αρωγοί, ώστε να πραγματοποιηθεί το πρώτο κύμα των προσπαθειών μας για την ενημέρωση του κόσμου.

The Hellenic Society of Haematology, has the last few years strengthened its efforts to sensitize the public and the state in our country concerning voluntary actions. In our everyday practice the hematologists deal with patients that need blood, hemopoietic stem cells for transplantation, precious gifts that only another healthy human being can offer. On the other hand we meet the enthusiastic donors who hasten to offer but also our fellow-beings that hesitate to do it. Lack of awareness, indifference and fear act as a brake on voluntarism.In Greece there is urgent need to increase volunteer blood donation, to expand the Bone Marrow Donor Registry and the Public Cord Blood Banking.Bearing these thoughts in mind the Greek hematologists launched a campaign to inform the society

on voluntary actions and especially on offering to sufferers from hematological diseases.With the slogan “Make yourself a link in our chain, become a volunteer donor” we visited 16 cities from May 22 to June 20, in a road-show designed to sensitize the people and the collective consciousness. We distributed printed matter, gave talks, organized open volunteer blood donation and set a human chain to create a symbolic “drop of life” in every city.A film and a tele-spot promoting our goals was created and emitted during the campaign with the volunteer participation of well-known artists.Ιn collaboration with Athens Mountaineering Club we climbed the top of Olympos –the mount of Gods in ancient Greek mythology- to suspend a banner with our slogan.The campaign culminated in Athens, with activities in Syntagma square dedicated to the European Week against Leukemia and Lymphoma, June 21-28. Central part of our activities in Athens had the Exhibition Mail Art. A total number of 610 paintings by courtesy of 304 painters of 45 countries who thoughtfully responded to our appeal to create a work of art with the theme “Human, Color, Music” were exhibited at Syntagma square. Many of them were sold, at token prices, and the proceeds will be used for the goals of the Hellenic Society of Haematology. We intend to continue our campaign in autumn, visiting more cities and organizing a second Painting Exhibition in Thessaloniki.We want to express our warmest thanks to a large number of people that made this campaign come true, voluntary offering their time, their work, a part of themselves.We warmly thank the Municipality of Athens for the disposition of Syntagma Square and the Presidency of the Greek Parliament for the permission to form a ‘life drop’ with human chain in the area in front of it. Ως Σωματείο Φίλων J. Carreras Ελλάδας εδώ και πολλά χρόνια έχουμε θέση ως βασικό μας σκοπό μέσω της Μουσικής να υποστηρίξουμε τον Άνθρωπο και ειδικότερα να συμβάλουμε στον Αγώνα για την καταπολέμηση της Λευχαιμίας ακολουθώντας πιστά το τρανό παράδειγμα του θρυλικού τενόρου J. Carreras, ο οποίος είναι ο μεγάλος μας εμπνευστής.Ανάμεσα στις πολλές μουσικές δραστηριότητες που πραγματοποιούμαι κάθε χρόνο, φέτος σε συνεργασία με την Ελληνική Αιματολογική Εταιρεία και την εκλεκτή ζωγράφο Θωμαή Κόντου προχωρήσαμε στη διοργάνωση μιας έκθεσης Mail Art με θέμα την Μουσική και τον Άνθρωπο.Η έκθεση γνώρισε μεγάλη επιτυχία και έδωσε την ευκαιρία σε πολλούς καλλιτέχνες από διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου να συμβάλουν στο έργου του Σωματείου J. Carreras και της Ελληνικής Αιματολογικής Εταιρείας. Προσβλέπουμε σε πολλές ανάλογες συνεργασίες με την δραστήρια Ελληνική Αιματολογική Εταιρεία.

Carreras in Greece has for years been to support through Music the human being and in particular to contribute in the fight against Leukemia following the excellent example of the legendary tenor, J. Carreras, who has inspired us with his courage.Among the many musical activities we organize annually we cooperated with the Greek Society of Haematology and the artist Thomai Kontos and we presented in June 2010 a Mail Art exhibition on Music and Humanity.The exhibition met a great success and provided the opportunity to many artists from around the world to contribute in the work of the Association J. Κάθε έργο τέχνης είναι παιδί της εποχής του, και καθρέφτης των αισθημάτων μας.Κάθε καλλιτεχνικό κίνημα έτσι διαμορφώνει, μια πολιτισμική άποψη και μια περίοδο που είναι αδύνατον να επαναληφθεί,

παρά μόνο να εξελιχθεί και αυτό μόνο όταν χαρακτηρίζεται από την απαραίτητη εσωτερική αναγκαιότητα.Σε μια εποχή σαν την δική μας που η τέχνη λειτουργεί σχεδόν κεκλισμένων των θυρών, σ’ ένα κέλυφος επιφανειακό

και με σχεδόν βιομηχανικά στεγανά, το κίνημα του mail art ήρθε σα φρέσκο αεράκι. Είναι ανοικτό, εκφραστικά πληροφοριακό, σύγχρονο, με καινούριες ιδέες, και ταυτόχρονα έντονα προσωπικό.

Κεντράρει ξανά στην εσωτερική ανάγκη του ανθρώπου να εκφραστεί δημιουργικά, και να επικοινωνήσει με τους ομότεχνους του. Έχει τη μεγάλη γοητεία να δουλεύει κανείς ταυτόχρονα με χιλιάδες καλλιτέχνες του κόσμου.

Εύχομαι αυτός ο ανοιχτός δίαυλος της παγκόσμιας καλλιτεχνικής επικοινωνίας, που ήδη αγκαλιάστηκε, να ριζώσει για τα καλά στη χώρα μας και να πάρει τις μορφές που θα συμπορεύονται με την ελληνική ευαισθησία και έκφραση.

Each work of art is a child of his age and a mirror of our feelings.Each artistic movement shapes a cultural aspect and an era that is impossible to be repeated,

except for evolved only, when it is characterized by the essential internal necessity.In our age that art function in specific borders, in a nutshell surface and with almost

industrially partitions, the mail art’s movement came like fresh breeze.It is open, expressively informative, modern, with new ideas, and simultaneously intensely personal.

It’s main interest is the internal need of a person to express himself creatively, and communicate with his colleagues. It has the big challenge for the artist to work simultaneously with thousand of artists in the world.

I wish that, this open channel for the world artistic communication that has already been embraced, will root in our country and take the forms that proceed with the Greek sensitivity and expression.

In an era that the “barbarians” are anointed saviours and the values that they impose have brand name and price. Projects like this one provide us with a platform of free artistic expression,

Όταν λάβαμε τα νέα από την Θωμαή Κόντου σχετικά με την συνεργασία της με την Ελληνική Αιματολογική Εταιρεία: ’’Δώρισε αίμα, γίνε και εσύ εθελοντής δότης”, αμέσως το αγκαλιάσαμε. Μέσα από τα ψηφιακά μας κανάλια βοηθήσαμε με μεγάλη μας χαρά να διαδοθούν γρήγορα τα νέα.

Ένα άμορφο Διεθνές Δίκτυο Ταχυδρομικής Τέχνης, συμπεριλαμβάνοντας χιλιάδες μέλη σε πάνω από εξήντα χώρες, εξελίσσεται από το 1950 ως σήμερα. Αυτό επηρεάστηκε από πολλά κινήματα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων του Ντανταϊσμού και του Fluxus. Συνήθως, το Δίκτυο των καλλιτεχνών

του Mail Art φτιάχνει και ανταλλάσει καρτ ποστάλ, σχεδιάζει κατά παραγγελία γραμματόσημα, ή καλλιτεχνικά γραμματόσημα και σχεδιάζει, διακοσμεί ή εικονογραφεί φακέλους. Ακόμα μεγάλα και τρισδιάστατα αντικείμενα έχουν σταλεί

από τους καλλιτέχνες του Mail Art, για πολλούς από τους οποίους το μήνυμα και το μέσο έκφρασης είναι συνώνυμα. Το Μail Art έδωσε την ευκαιρία στους καλλιτέχνες να στέλνουν τα έργα τους κατευθείαν εκεί που θα εκτεθούν.

Η αποστολή μπορεί να γίνει από ένα καλλιτέχνη σε άλλο καλλιτέχνη, αλλά και από τον καλλιτέχνη στο πρόγραμμα στο οποίο το κοινό θα μπορεί να δει το έργο του. Το Mail Art είναι πάντα ένα δώρο. Αυτό έχει να κάνει με την γενναιοδωρία στο να στείλεις το έργο σου

και στη δύναμη του μεγάλου δικτύου, έτσι ώστε να κρατήσει την ενέργεια και τον διάλογο ζωντανό.Αυτή τη φορά τα δώρα που ζητήθηκαν για ένα ευγενικό σκοπό με θέμα «Άνθρωπος, χρώματα, μουσική». Αυτή η έκθεση δεν έγινε στα πλαίσια

μιας συλλογής, αλλά για να εκτιμηθεί και να παραχωρηθεί ως δωρεά στην Ελληνική Αιματολογική Εταιρεία. Η έκθεση πραγματοποιείται την κατάλληλη στιγμή, την Ευρωπαϊκή Εβδομάδα Λευχαιμίας και Λεμφώματος, 21-28 Ιουνίου, και την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα της Μουσικής, 21 Ιουνίου.

Εκατοντάδες έργα φτάνουν, εκατοντάδες χέρια βοήθησαν να δημιουργηθεί Τέχνη και να φτάσει στην Ελλάδα μέσω ταχυδρομείου. Βοηθώντας την εκστρατεία να πετύχει. Το λογότυπο της Διεθνούς Ένωσης Ταχυδρομικής Τέχνης τα λέει όλα. Μέσω του παραδοσιακού

ταχυδρομείου δίνουμε όλοι τα χέρια. Εμείς όλοι αγαπάμε την ζωή και θέλουμε πολλοί άλλοι να την απολαμβάνουν επίσης. Τα μέλη δώρισαν τα έργα τους, το αίμα της ζωής για τον συνάνθρωπό τους.

Ευχαριστούμε την επιμελήτρια Θωμαή Κόντου, καθώς και την ομάδα της για την υπέροχη δουλειά σχετικά με την Εκστρατεία της Αιματολογικής Εταιρείας. Ευχόμαστε κάθε επιτυχία και ότι καλύτερο για το μέλλον.

When we received the information from Thomai Kontou about her project in collaboration with the Hellenic Society of Hematology: “Donate a chance at life”, we immediately embraced it. Through our digital channels we helped with great pleasure in spreading the news of this project. An amorphous international mail art network, involving thousands of participants in over sixty countries, evolved between the 1950s and now.

It is influenced by other movements, including Dada and Fluxus. Most commonly, Mail-Art Network artists make and exchange postcards, design custom-made stamps, or artistamps, and design, decorate or illustrate envelopes. Even large and unwieldy three-dimensional objects have

been known to have been sent by Mail-Art Network artists, for many of whom the message and the medium are synonymous. Mail-Art makes it possible for artists to send their work straight to the place where it will be viewed. This can be from one artists to another artists but also from

the artists straight to a project where an audience will see the works. Mail-Art is always a gift. It has to do with the generosity of sending your art and energy into the larger network in order to keep the energy and the dialogue in the world flowing.

This time gifts were asked for a noble cause with the subthemes “Human, Colours, Music”. Τhis exhibition doesn’t just build a collection, the original works sent in are meant to be auctioned and the proceeds will be donated to the Hellenic Society of Hematology. With 21-28 June 2010 being

the European Week Against Leukemia and Lymphoma and 21th June observed as World Music Day, the timing is perfect. Hundreds of works arrive, hundreds of helping hands worldwide making art and send it through the postal systems to Greece. Helping this project to become a success.

The Logo of the IUOMA says it all. Through the traditional mail one hand reaches out to the other. We all love life and want so many others to enjoy life too. Participants donating their work, the blood of life for their fellow-man.

We compliment curator Thomai Kontou and her team on her wonderful work in realizing this Mail-Art project. We wish the project every success and the very best for the future.

για πολλούς από τους οποίους το μήνυμα και το μέσο έκφρασης είναι συνώνυμα. Το Μail Art έδωσε την ευκαιρία στους καλλιτέχνες να στέλνουν τα έργα τους κατευθείαν εκεί που θα εκτεθούν.

Η αποστολή μπορεί να γίνει από ένα καλλιτέχνη σε άλλο καλλιτέχνη, αλλά και από τον καλλιτέχνη στο πρόγραμμα στο οποίο το κοινό θα μπορεί να δει το έργο του. Το Mail Art είναι πάντα ένα δώρο. Αυτό έχει να κάνει με την γενναιοδωρία στο να στείλεις το έργο σου

και στη δύναμη του μεγάλου δικτύου, έτσι ώστε να κρατήσει την ενέργεια και τον διάλογο ζωντανό.Αυτή τη φορά τα δώρα που ζητήθηκαν για ένα ευγενικό σκοπό με θέμα «Άνθρωπος, χρώματα, μουσική». Αυτή η έκθεση δεν έγινε στα πλαίσια

μιας συλλογής, αλλά για να εκτιμηθεί και να παραχωρηθεί ως δωρεά στην Ελληνική Αιματολογική Εταιρεία. Η έκθεση πραγματοποιείται την κατάλληλη στιγμή, την Ευρωπαϊκή Εβδομάδα Λευχαιμίας και Λεμφώματος, 21-28 Ιουνίου, και την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα της Μουσικής, 21 Ιουνίου.

Εκατοντάδες έργα φτάνουν, εκατοντάδες χέρια βοήθησαν να δημιουργηθεί Τέχνη και να φτάσει στην Ελλάδα μέσω ταχυδρομείου. Βοηθώντας την εκστρατεία να πετύχει. Το λογότυπο της Διεθνούς Ένωσης Ταχυδρομικής Τέχνης τα λέει όλα. Μέσω του παραδοσιακού

ταχυδρομείου δίνουμε όλοι τα χέρια. Εμείς όλοι αγαπάμε την ζωή και θέλουμε πολλοί άλλοι να την απολαμβάνουν επίσης. Τα μέλη δώρισαν τα έργα τους, το αίμα της ζωής για τον συνάνθρωπό τους.

When we received the information from Thomai Kontou about her project in collaboration with the Hellenic Society of Hematology: “Donate a chance at life”, we immediately embraced it. Through our digital channels we helped with great pleasure in spreading the news of this project.

An amorphous international mail art network, involving thousands of participants in over sixty countries, evolved between the 1950s and now. It is influenced by other movements, including Dada and Fluxus. Most commonly, Mail-Art Network artists make and exchange postcards,

design custom-made stamps, or artistamps, and design, decorate or illustrate envelopes. Even large and unwieldy three-dimensional objects have been known to have been sent by Mail-Art Network artists, for many of whom the message and the medium are synonymous. Mail-Art makes it

possible for artists to send their work straight to the place where it will be viewed. This can be from one artists to another artists but also from the artists straight to a project where an audience will see the works. Mail-Art is always a gift. It has to do with the generosity of sending

your art and energy into the larger network in order to keep the energy and the dialogue in the world flowing. This time gifts were asked for a noble cause with the subthemes “Human, Colours, Music”. Τhis exhibition doesn’t just build a collection, the original

works sent in are meant to be auctioned and the proceeds will be donated to the Hellenic Society of Hematology. With 21-28 June 2010 being the European Week Against Leukemia and Lymphoma and 21th June observed as World Music Day, the timing is perfect. Hundreds of works arrive,

hundreds of helping hands worldwide making art and send it through the postal systems to Greece. Helping this project to become a success. The Logo of the IUOMA says it all. Through the traditional mail one hand reaches out to the other. We all love life and want so many others

to enjoy life too. Participants donating their work, the blood of life for their fellow-man.We compliment curator Thomai Kontou and her team on her wonderful work in realizing this Mail-Art project.
