GS210 Principles of Sociology Course Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Explain the forces of socialization and culture; 2. Describe predominant theories of deviance; 3. Explain the causes and effects of social inequality, including racism, sexism, and systems of 4. social stratification; 5. List the predominant social institutions and their functions; and 6. Use the principles of sociology to draw conclusions about the world, society, and how people act.
