New home registrations are on the riNEW home registrations acrossthe UK remain ahead of last yearsfigures, with the latest rollingquarter revealing an 8 per cent in-crease on the same period in 2013,according to new figures releasedby the National House BuildingCouncil (NHBC).

The latest statistics show that37,222 new homes were registeredacross the UK for the period Sep-tember November, compared to34,356 for the corresponding threemonths in 2013.

New home registrations in theprivate sector remain up on lastyear for the rolling quarter (29,812in 2014; 25,079 in 2013) but the pub-lic sector is struggling to matchthe numbers registered 12 monthsago (7,410 in 2014; 9,277 in 2013).

The drop in the number of af-

fordable homes being registeredalso resulted in November fallingslightly below overall levels forthe same month last year (10,824in 2014 - 8,764 private; 2,060 publiccompared to 11,409 in 2013 8,010private; 3,399 public).

As the leading warranty and in-surance provider for new homesin the UK, NHBCs monthly regis-tration statistics provide new andaccurate data on the new homesmarket.

Commenting on the latest new

home statistics, NHBC Chief Ex-ecutive Mike Quinton, said; Aswe approach the end of the yearit is clear that overall registration
