Their first guitars were covered in sparkle pearloid celluloid, an ingenious use of materials previously used in their accordionproduction. Over the years Hagstrom expanded their line-up to include hollow body guitars like the Viking and Jimmy, electric bassesincluding the legendary 8 string, and the Hagstrom flagship models Swede and Super Swede. Hagstrom also produced a series ofacoustic and classical guitars in the early 70‘s. When Hagstrom ceased production in 1983, the guitars became instant collectors itemsand the love and respect for these fine instruments by musicians around the world has never waned.

The new Hagstrom Beluga, Vintage and Ultralux bass series recapture many of the original Hagstrom features, are built to the same stringent qualitystandards and feature many of the same unique tones that made Hagstrom the legend that it is.

All models rely on a unique sourcing and manufacturing concept. Both the raw materials and parts for this new series come from first rate suppliersand are assembled to create genuine Hagstrom guitars, with tone and quality being top priority. All designs are approved by Karl Erik Hagstrom, the woodcomes from North America, and the hardware is purchased from top US and Korean suppliers, while pickups are developed in Korea according toK. E. Hagstrom‘s exact specifications.

The result is a range of stunning instruments that look and sound almost identical to the originals. This may come as no surprise knowing that they are builtusing the original machines or exact replicas of the machines used to build the legends of yore. Only thanks to this approach was it possible to keep usingthose time-tested bridges, tailpieces and even the original Hagstrom logo. Even the machine heads, albeit with slightly smaller and thus handier

buttons, are back, as is the legendary H-Expander truss rod. But there are also new features, like the Resinator™ Wood fingerboard whoseresonance and sustain qualities are far superior to anything ebony or rosewood can offer.

Quality and expertise are fused into exceptional instruments whose price tags are nevertheless boundto come as a pleasant surprise to musicians.

All new Hagstrom electric guitars include the company’s

patented H-Expander truss rod. Providing tension at

either end and running the entire length of the neck,

the rigid yet light-weight alloy truss rod allows for a

very low action and thin neck, two factors that were

instrumental in earning Hagstrom its reputation as the

world’s fastest playing guitar.

Full Contact Bridge = Maximum Energy Transfer

The function of FCS-BD4 is

a natural energy radiator. It

insures the maximum amount of

vibrating string energy transfer

between the string and the

body of the Bass. The individual

components that make up the bridge are all contiguous

and secure tightly together maximizing surface contact.

This increases the natural sustain and volume of the

instrument more than any other bridge design on the

market to date. The result is more tone, sustain and

purity of sound. The FCS-BD4 offers dual access for

those who prefer to run the strings through the body

or set through the bridge block, for different tonal

variations.

Hard Rock Maple, arguably the finest neck wood and

used by the best luthiers world wide, further enhances

the playability, durability and bright articulate tone.

Resinator™ Wood is a wood composite material that is

homogeneous in nature and is more stable than any

standard wood product. It is the perfect fingerboard

material in that it eliminates wolf tones or hot spots. It

has an articulate sound like high quality Ebony without

the problems associated with Ebony.

All Hagstrom bass guitars are equipped with

Hagstrom custom designed Dyna Rail Humbuckers.

These pickups have been specially designed to

deliver a clean and powerful tone without noise

or hum, while still focusing on maintaining the

instruments natural timbers.

Hagstrom guitars feature a high

grade polyester finish which

delivers a much harder, smoother

and denser finish while also

producing much better sonic

performance than polyurethane

which is used on the majority of other guitars.

Hagstrom Bass Machine Heads

Model JB-159 feature a 17:1 gear ratio for accurate

tuning in a small Die Cast housing for a lifetime of

trouble free use. Precision machined cogs and worm

screws prevent slippage and allow for fine-tuning.

Sealed gearbox is permanently lubricated that makes

for friction-free operation.

Model JB-459 feature a 22:1

gear ratio for accurate tuning in

an open gear format for highly

accurate tuning. The heavy-duty

construction allow for a lifetime

of trouble free use. Precision

machined cogs and worm screws prevent slippage and

allow for ultimate fine-tuning.

Hag-Bags are specially designed to provide a

perfectly snug fit. A unique B-Wave assembly

incorporated into the Hag-Bags sides provide

superior protection, while

also being lighter and

less bulky than other

conventional gig bags.

Hagstrom Hardshell Cases are manufactured from high

grade plywood and feature heavy duty gold plated

latches, a comfortable ergonomically soft handle,

and a deep plush protective lining to reduce interior

movement. The case exterior is made of durable Tolex

in a vintage tan tone, and is gracefully branded with

the Hagstrom logotype.

Seams are enforced with heavy brown stitching,

featuring tasteful leatherette stitched sides.

The rectangular flat cases for bass guitar are offered

in two different sizes: one size to fit the Beluga Series,

and the other to fit the FXB and HB models.
