Listed prices exclude shipping costs and VAT. For a VAT-free invoice please provide us with your VAT Registration Number (VAT REG NO). Otherwise German VAT rate of 19 % is charged. Which quality criteria do the products of Hans Schröder GmbH fulfil?Independent of their actual use, all our cardboard products do have one thing in common. They are especially designed for the high demands of archives, librar-ies, museums and private collectors. Depending on the required functionality the product quality is adapted to different archival and preservation needs.

How can I make sure to find the right product for my needs? The following table gives a detailed overview on the cardboard qualities used within our product range. Look for the three quality symbols , and to identify quickly the quality corresponding to your requirements.

The Image Permanence Institute in Rochester, USA is performing the Photographic Activity Test (PAT, ISO Standard 14523 replaced by ISO 18916) on papers, cardboards and foils of Hans Schröder that are likely to come into direct contact with photographic emulsions. Next to the permanence criteria of DIN ISO 9706, the norm ISO 16245:2009 specifies requirements for boxes and file covers, made of cellulosic material, to be used for long term storage of documents on paper or parchment. Testing criteria include the surface structure, the use of colours and adhe-sives, the water resistance as well as handling and functionality.

With the symbol on the left, Hans Schröder confirms that marked products have been successfully tested according to the new ISO 16245 standard.

The international standard norm DIN ISO 9706 for permanent paper and cardboards has require-ments to minimum strength, measured by a tear test; minimum content of calcium carbonate, measured by the alkali reserve; maximum content of easily oxidized material, measured by the kappa number; maximum and minimum pH values of a cold water extract of the paper or cardboard.

Step 1

Put the transfer-helper on the opened folder mechanism, reach with one hand under the last sheets and push the documents onto transfer-helper.

Step 2

Fix fastener and pull transfer helper with attached fastener downwards using the edge of a table.

Step 3a

Remove transfer helper; for fasteners (Item-No. 90400, 90450, 90600) set on compressor bar and fix prongs pulling outwards.

Step 3b

For green fasteners (Item-No. 90200, 90300) simply bend prongs outwards.

Step 4

Put bundled package of documents into storage box - finished.

To empty standard folders quickly, we recommend the use of our transfer-helper (page 26), which is adapted exactly to the folder closing mechanism. Combined with a fastener (page 26) the complete folder content can be transferred in one bundle and stored in an archival box. Please find the detailed description of the transfer process below.

Ethafoam is a Trademark of The Dow Chemical Company for a range of closed cell expanded regular polyethylene foam products. It is resilient in nature, giving it outstanding recovery characteristics that provide perfect cushioning protection against repeated impacts. Ethafoam can be recycled. It is acid-free and impervious to most chemicals. Also it does not interact with material, that is in direct contact with the foam. As a result, Ethafoam is often encountered in conservation and protection applications.

Polyester fleece "AVOS"

AVOS polyester fl eece can be used where ever fragile materials, objects, artworks, books, textiles, document

bundles etc. must be cushioned, wrapped and protected. They are made of pure and inert 100 % polyester

fi bres. The applied thermal-bonding method allows fl eece production without the use of additional chemical

components.

During the thermal-bonding process the nonwoven is heated to 130° Celsius and is therefore hygienically safe.

As a consequence AVOS polyester fl eece contain no softener or other harmful ingredients. AVOS polyester

fl eece is washable 90° Celsius and can be dried in a dryer. AVOS polyester fl eece is available in two versions,

with different strength and wadding capabilities.

§ 3 Prices and payment (1) The prices in offers for consumers exclude statutory value-added tax and other price compo-nents. The prices do not include the shipping costs. (3) Payment may, at our choice, be performed via advance payment, PayPal or invoice. Pick-up of goods by the customer is only possible if an appointment has been arranged in advance. (2) If the customer is a consumer, the risk of accidental loss or accidental deterioration of the goods sold passes over to the customer at the time of delivery to the customer, the same applies, if the goods are sent by mail-order.(3) If the customer is an entrepreneur, the risk and danger of shipment passes over to the cus-tomer as soon as we committed the goods to the assigned logistics partner. § 5 Warranty(1) The warranty period for new goods is two years, starting from the delivery of the goods. The warranty period for second-hand goods is one year, starting from the delivery of the goods. The warranty of one year does not apply, if we can be charged with intent or gross negligence, or in case bodily harm or injury to health of the customer is attributable to us, as well as loss of life of the customer. The warranty for second-hand goods is excluded, if the customer acts as an entrepreneur. (2) Customers acting as entrepreneurs are required to inspect the goods for variations in quality and quantity, and inform us in writing of any discernible defects within one week after receipt of the goods; otherwise, any right to warranty claims shall be excluded. Notification of hidden defects has to be made by the entrepreneurs in writing within one week after their detection. Punctual dispatch suffices for observance of the deadline. The entrepreneur bears the full burden of proof that all the conditions for a claim are met, especially for the defect itself, for the point in time when the defect is detected, and the timeliness of the notice of defects.

§ 6 Liability (1) In cases of slightly negligent violations of duty, our liability and the liability of our vicarious agents is limited to the amount of the foreseeable loss typical of contracts. In cases of slightly negligent violations of duty of non-essential contractual obligations, which do not endanger the fulfillment of the contract, neither we nor our vicarious agents are liable. An essential contractual obligation is a duty, which makes the proper execution of the contract possible; the customer can rely on the adherence to this on a regular basis. (2) The above-mentioned limitations of liability do not apply to customers’ claims according to the product liability law or warranty. Furthermore, the limitations of liability do not apply in case of bodily harm and injury to health of the customer attributable to us, or loss of life of the customer.

§ 7 Reservation of proprietary rights (1) For contracts with consumers, we reserve property in the goods until the purchase price has been paid in full. (2) For contracts with entrepreneurs, we reserve property in the goods until all claims from an ongoing business relation have been settled. Where the value of goods, which are subject to reten-tion of ownership, exceeds the outstanding payment from an ongoing business relation by 10%, we are required to release the goods subject to retention of title. (3) The entrepreneur is entitled to resell the goods as part of ordinary business transactions. The entrepreneur shall assign all claims in the amount of the invoice price, which accrue from resale to a third party. We accept the assignment. After the assignment, the entrepreneur is entitled to the collection of a claim. Should you be unable to return the services, should you be able to only return the services in part or in a deteriorated condition, you have to compensate for any loss of value. In the case of goods surrendered this does not apply, if the deterioration of the goods is brought about solely by a tryout thereof – such as would have been possible for you, for instance, in a retail shop. Furthermore, you can avoid the obligation to compensate for any deterioration due to the utilization of the goods as intended, by not using the goods as if they were your property, and by refraining from all actions that might impair their value. § 9 Agreement on costs If the customer exerts his legal right of withdrawal (see cancellation policy), the customer has to bear the regular cost for sending back the goods, if the goods delivered are in conformity with the goods ordered, and if the price of the item to be sent back does not exceed the amount of 40€, or if the customer – at a higher price of the item – has not yet reciprocated or rendered the installments agreed upon in the contract at the time of revocation. Otherwise, returning goods is free of charge for the customer.

§ 10 Legal venue, applicable law, invalidity of single provisions (1) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies with the exception of the UN convention on the international sale of goods. For consumers, who do not conclude the contract for occupational or commercial purposes, this choice of law is only valid insofar as it does not deprive the consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country, in which the consumer is a resident. (2) If the customer is an entrepreneur, legal entity under public law, or fund asset subject to public law, the exclusive jurisdiction and legal venue for all disputes arising from this contract shall be our registered office (Karlsdorf-Neuthard, Germany). (3) Should any provision of these general terms and conditions be void, the other provisions remain valid.
