Our April 2016 Editorial reads”To us, it is not a time to rejoice or to celebrate as it is not victory but we have stepped in towards our mission to get partial success. We are waiting for “Cabinet Nod” which we expect to be in our favour giving us temporary solace to feel that we have got a piece of our demand fulfilled.”

Ultimately our untiring efforts have yielded positive result and we got Cabinet Nod on 5th July 2016, followed with orders on 18.07.2016. The detailed analysis with our observation is givenin-depth in this issue. Despite members repeated requests we have skipped legal process keeping in mind larger interest of the Pensioners.

It is common phenomenal that when battle is lost, none come forward to shoulder blame but in case of winning, the picture is quite different. Numerous organization are claiming lion share for victory and we have no comment to make, as we feel that in the field all the Associations were eager to w in and u l t ima te l y knowingly or unknowingly the joint and co l l ec t i ve ba t t l e o f t he Pensioners have paid dividend.

Those who are busy in mud throwing towards those who are celebrating this event as victory are forgetting that when patient recovers from COMA and gain consciousness and shows symptoms of recovery, it is definitely time to celebrate and rejoice the event. Well in a democratic set up every one is free to say what he thinks proper but all the concerned very well know the importance of the achievement we have got.

We cannot expect full proof solutions to all our grievances irrespective of their being just, genuine and legitimate too.

We will continue to struggle for the shortcoming we have in achievement and with cooperation fromlike-minded sister organizations make every effort to strengthen our base to focus the attention of the authorities.

Please note that it was not easy task to convince the Government to ANNAL a decision taken by the Cabinet In 2004 and to prepare to shoulder the exclusive responsibility to pay us pension delinking it from the BSNL Contribution process.

Further, it has been assured in the Parliament on 4th May, 2016 answering P.Q. that in future when BSNL Employees get their pay revision, the BSNL Pensioners will also get the same THROUGH CABINET DECISION.

Now task before us… Now we have to concentrate our attention to convince the authorities that it is not proper act to modify the rule and give permission for notional fixation for the Pensioners which has denied them legitimate due in the name of ANOMALY REMOVAL with Past-10.6.2013 Pensioners.

We firmly believe that those who retired from 01.01.2007 to 09.06.2013 are legitimately eligible for their claim of encashment of leave, computation and gratuity on their new Pension fixed retrospectively.

We have to also struggle to get Pension arrear for pre-01.01.2007 and for those who retired from 01.01.2007 to 09.06.2013.

We do not rule out legal remedy but keeping in view the time and money it takes, prefer to represent thecase d i f fe rent ly by e ffec t ive representation to all the authorities. We keep the option of legal remedy open as last resort.

We have to keep vigil over the demand of the working Association who claim that the wages for the employees for the period from 01.01.2007 to 09.06.2013 are

deferred and now claiming the payment as Company is becoming financial viable

rdWe will have monitor the working of the 3 Pay Revision Committee appointed by the GOI with six months time frame and the result of the Wage Revision for BSNL Employees which will be discussed and finalization after discussion with Working Employees Association. Let me make it clear that to have our voice heard effectively, we must have numerical strength of members.

We will welcome suggestion/move from our sister organization for united struggle on agreed points without any line of demarcation. Pensioners' unity is our prime concern. We cannot always rely upon the political assistance from the ruling party.

On our front, we will continue our crusade but in turn we also expect that members also come forward and contribute financially to make the organization financial strong to meet with any situation in future.

I once again say that let us take pledge to enroll maximum numbers of the Pensioners in our Association to show our strength, Unity and Power to achieve our goal. Nothing is impossible if we have firm determination, desire and aptitude to achieve.
