article; and panel discussion
Base London ConferenceBase London offers an integrated and peo-ple-focussed discussion of the development issues London needs to tackle. It presents the joined-up thinking that will deliver smarter, better outcomes and more efficient use of scarce resources - because silos and the tendency to think of housing or transport or energy as isolated challenges misses the big opportunity for optimisation.

HARMONISE was pre-sented in three ways – firstly an oral presenta-tion to the full confer-ence by William Hynes; there was also a panel discussion with William Hynes, Jon Coaffee and LeighFisher. Finally, an article outlining the pur-pose and aims of HAR-MONISE was included in the event guide.

ESC ANNUAL CONFERENCE “Criminology of Europe: Inspiration by Diversity”10th to 13th September 2014, Prague The conference was an open space for an ex-change of ideas and of research findings in all areas of the criminological research. Be-side the traditional orientation on victimology, penology, sociology and criminal justice, the aim is to attract the scholars in psychology, addictology, policing etc. Comparative re-search studies played an essential role in this effort. The event will be hosted by Czech Society of Criminology and Charles University in Prague. Czech Society of Criminology was estab-lished in 2012 only but it covers includes about 150 members and its activities are strengthening day by day.

The paper “ Multi-View User Similarity Aggre-gation in Collaborative Filtering Recom-mender Systems: Application to the Urban Resilience Domain” was submitted to the Journal of Knowledge Based Systems
The paper presents the novel similarity aggregation approach in collabo-rative filtering. The algorithm developed imple-ments the ordered weighted and uninorm aggregation operators. The proposed approach is demonstrated with a use case in the Urban Resilience domain.

no sucof a htiw setageled 002 yb dednetta saw ecnerefnoc ehTcurrent practice, experience and promising new ideas in the broad area of intelligent systems and knowledge engineering
The paper presents a novel collaborative filter-ing recommender sys-tem model. This model differentiates from other recommender system models in that it utilizes two aggregation operators, namely OWA and uninorm, to compute similarity degrees be-tween users. We demonstrate the applica-tion of the proposed model by integrating it in the HARMONISE plat-form for communities in the Urban Resilience domain. The application example illustrates how the proposed model of collaborative filtering recommender system can predict content of interest to users in the platform, based not only on user preferences but also on features of their user profile.
