Scarf measures 7” wide x 60” long, not including fringe.
RED HEART® BOUTIQUE™ “Eclipse™”: 4 balls 9801
Storm Blue.
Knitting Needles: 6.5mm [US 10½].
Yarn needle.
GAUGE: 19 sts = 4”; 24 rows = 4” in 6 x 6 rib pattern.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain
sk2p = Slip next stitch knitwise to right needle, knit next
stitches together (k2tog), lift slipped stitch over the k2tog
and off the right needle.
NOTE
To make scarf only, 3 balls of yarn are needed. To makehat only, 2 balls of yarn are needed.
SCARF
Cast on 34 sts.
Begin 6 x 6 Rib
K8, *p6, k6; repeat from * to last 2
sts, K2.
Row 2: P8, *k6, p6; repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Rows 3–10: Repeat last 2 rows 4 more times.
Row 11: K2, *p6, k6; repeat from * to last 8 sts, p6, k2.
Row 12: P2, *k6, p6; repeat from * to last 8 sts, k6, p2.
Rows 13–20: Repeat last 2 rows 4 more times.Repeat Rows 1–20 until scarf measures 60”. Bind off in
pattern.
Cast on 20 sts, bind off 19 sts (1 st remains on needle)
*cast on 19 sts (20 sts on needle), bind off 19 sts (1 st
across one end of scarf. Fasten off the last stitch. Make
another fringe in the same manner for other end of scarf
Sew a fringe to each end of scarf.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
HAT
Cast on 86 (98) sts.
6 x 6 Rib Section
Row 1: K4, *p6, k6; repeat from * to last 10 sts, p6, k4.
Row 2: P4, *k6, p6; repeat from * to last 10 sts, k6, p4.
Repeat last 2 rows until piece measures 4 (4½)” from
beginning.
2 x 2 Rib Section
Row 1: K2, *p2, k2; repeat from * to end of row.
Row 2: P2, *k2, p2; repeat from * to end of row.
Repeat last 2 rows until 2 x 2 rib section measures 3 (4)”
ending with a Row 2.
Row 1: K2, *p2tog, k2; repeat from * to end of row—65
(74) sts.

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. With yarn needle, thread tail
through remaining sts and pull tight to gather.
FINISHING
Sew side edges together for back seam, reversing seam
for ¾ of 6 x 6 rib section for brim. Turn back brim. Weave
in ends.
