Hayden Walmsley announces intention to stand forWest Midlands Regional Chairman position

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the position of West

    Midlands Regional CF Chairman.

I truly believe that the West Midlands Region can be a productive and proactive

Region in CF, and I believe that I am able to achieve this. Throughout theRegion, there are a number of active and successful branches and areas but,

there are some branches and areas that want and need greater assistance. I

believe that a strong Regional Executive, that I would provide, would be best

placed to do this and would also be able to work closely with the West Midlands

Conservative Party, giving all West Midlands branches and areas a greater

number of access points to both CF and the central party.

If I were elected as West Midlands CF Chairman, I would have three equally

    important main priorities:

    1. To ensure that there is an effective Regional campaign in place for the

2014 European Elections. It is no secret that the party will be facing tough

challenges at these elections, with this election being turned into a review of

the Government by Labour, and an opportunity to try and show a divided party

by UKIP. The recent announcement by David Cameron about a referendum on

Britains membership of the EU if the Conservatives win an outright majority at

the 2015 election will undoubtedly help our cause, but with UKIP still 1 point

ahead of us in the opinion polls, and attempt to at least maintain our current

representation of having 3 Tory MEPs from the West Midlands.

    2. To assist all area and branch chairmen to retain as many Conservative

councillors and controlled County Councils, and Unitary Authorities in

Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council, at the 2013 elections as

    possible.

    3. To create more Regional events and functions that all members are able

to enjoy, including some form of formal ball/dinner and a Regional CF

conference that will be at a minimum cost as possible to all who attend.

I also will be launching my Common Courtesies Checklist which will include

my commitment to reply to emails, provide updates and support all branch,

and area events and requests where possible. The exact details of this will be

released shortly, along with my full manifesto.
