Hospitality Development Company (HDC) is the United Development Company’s (UDC psc.) wholly owned hospitality subsidiary.

Discussions are underway to add more winning concepts to the HDC restaurant portfolio.

On the Hotels and Resorts front, HDC is developing three luxury boutique hotel properties, ideally situated at The Pearl - Qatar.

The world famous Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts will launch its first hotel in the region at The Pearl - Qatar during 2012, and has already won an internationally acclaimed design award.

HDC has been in advanced talks to conclude the acquisition of a strategic stake of a lifestyle hotel operator, with an aim to grow the hotel brand globally.

Going forward, HDC will grow through the development of its existing hospitality brand relationships, and through ventures into strategic acquisitions. This combination of organic and non-organic growth will provide optimal investment diversification.

HDC is the hospitality arm of UDC owners of the The Pearl - Qatar

United Development Company PSC (UDC) is one of Qatar’s leading private sector shareholding companies. HDC is in various stages of developing three luxury boutique hotel properties, all strategically located at The Pearl - Qatar.

The first opening planned in 2012 is Nikki Beach Resort & Spa The Pearl – Qatar. The two other boutique luxury hotels are at the planning stage and will be developed in superb waterfront locations at The Pearl - Qatar, offering the most exclusive experiences in the region.

The design and concept of each hotel is being carefully developed by HDC in association with world renowned architects, anticipating future trends of the hospitality industry.

Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s most famous luxury brands, will operate its first five-star resort in the Middle East at The Pearl of Qatar.

The Nikki Beach Resort & Spa The Pearl - Qatar is expected to start operating in second semester 2012. The trendiest hotel brand will feature 24 luxury townhouses and 26 rooms and spa suites spanning over 160-linear meters of ocean and beach frontage. The low rise property will offer the ideal balance between sophisticated living and vibrant entertainment.

The resort will also accommodate a Nikki Beach Club, Spa and fitness facility, an Ultra VIP Lounge/Club as well as three exclusive restaurants. It will combine five-star service, luxury accommodation, design and ambiance with signature entertainment in an international jet set resort environment.

Founded in 1996 by Jack Penrod, the brand established a new standard for unique and exciting Beach Club experience in destinations like St. Tropez, New York and Marbella.

The development of the Nikki Beach brand in Qatar’s exclusive destination, projected by award winning Singapore-based ECO ID Architects and interiors by Gatserelia Design, will be the first of its kind to offer state of the art entertainment within a five-star luxury resort.

Qanat Quartier is a Venetian inspired precinct located on the north shore of The Pearl - Qatar. This development includes luxury townhouses with sea and canal views, open piazzas on canal level, sandy bays, a sailing boat marina, charming retail shops and boardwalks.

The Marine Resort is currently in an advanced concept design stage. The resort will overview a beautiful sailboat marina and will enjoy 240 linear meters of sandy beach water front.

This ultimate marine resort will have around 150 rooms, suites, bungalows and villas, some of which are planned to be over the sea water.

At this stage, the property is planned to host a signature specialty restaurant (300 seats); an all-day dining (140 seats); a beach club & lounge bar; over 650 sqm of dedicated banqueting space; a cutting edge health club & relaxation spa of ~ 2,380 sqm and 130 parking lots. Outdoors, the resort will feature a poolside grill (200 seats); eight ultra-luxury day-use cabanas with private butler service; a large terrace and pool area; two sea-view outdoor pools; and a serviced sandy beach of over 7,500 sqm.

MEGU stands for ‘blessing’ in Japanese and offers modern upscale Japanese cuisine with sushi and sumibi aburiyaki, a grilling technique using “bincho-tan”, and a special charcoal found only near Kyoto and prized for its superior purifying properties.

Its first restaurant opened in 2004 in New York City offering outstanding food, brilliant design and first class service. The overall décor includes subtle Japanese interior accents, in a contemporary vibe. Its interiors are chic, trendy yet sophisticated and timeless.

MEGU’s concept is well defined as sophisticated organic dining in which the best raw materials worldwide, producers, the talented MEGU staff and the customer are brought together in a celebration in a cutting-edge yet serene environment.

Tse Yang is synonymous with Chinese haute cuisine. The brand has been operating for over 30 years in cosmopolitan destinations such as Paris, where it first began in 1980, New York, Geneva, Munich, Madrid and now Doha.

Tse Yang means the Old Gate of Beijing’s infamous Forbidden City. The restaurant prides itself on using the best available ingredients to create a classy yet trendy Chinese culinary experience. The brand is known for its exquisite cuisine and The Pearl - Qatar transformed it further, offering a glamorous and cutting edge atmosphere, with a clientele ranging from diplomats to famous artists.

The restaurant and bar is tastefully decorated with crimson chandeliers and red color décor, symbolical within the Oriental culture.

The menu offers highly authentic Chinese culinary delights and was designed to provide superb food. Tse Yang benefits from one of the best and most elaborate wine lists in Doha. Over 50 years of fine Lebanese cuisine and culinary traditions

The Burj Al Hamam restaurant, also known as Fawzi, has refined “The Art of Lebanese Cuisine” for over 50 years, satisfying guests with a wide range of Lebanese home cooking and fresh seafood.

Fayez (Fawzi) Elias Khoury established Burj Al Hamam in 1958 becoming one of the very best in Lebanon. Today, his sons have carried on the tradition of excellent food, impeccable service and quality control to provide guests with a well-deserved experience in fine dining. Al Tabkha is a Lebanese eatery concept offering healthy Lebanese cuisine in a friendly environment. The concept of serving authentic Lebanese home cooking soon became an epidemic word-of-mouth buzz that made Al Tabkha one of the leading fast-casual eateries in Beirut.

Pampano is a world-class award winning restaurant concept, offering Latin coastal cuisine in an elegant yet unpretentious setting.

This casual “chic” restaurant brand was born in New York in 2003, when famed chef Richard Sandoval, well-known in NY for his modern Mexican cuisine, partnered with the Spanish- born but Mexican-raised opera tenor and legend, Maestro Placido Domingo.

The menu is composed of traditional Mexican recipes executed in a modern way, with a touch of Asian ingredients. The outcome is a colourful light cuisine with a selection of signature dishes such as lobster tacos as well as a homemade delicious guacamole.
