On 11 th August 2017, PPUKM in collaboraon with Faculty of Medicine organized a Health For Malaysia Programme in Besut, Terengganu. Aimed to narrow the gap between public and healthcare praconers, the team aspire to improve health literacy and improve health awareness. This was the first me we had the priviledge to be involved in this Pro- gramme. The event started early on a fresh and breezy Saturday morning, providing free medical check-ups, blood tests, eye check-up, Women & Men health check-up, Emergency Rescue training and free consultaon. Pharmacy offered disease and medicaon counselling , as well as promoted the importance of quit smoking and the quit smoking services offered by Cer- fied Centres and Pharmacists naonwide. The public were very eager to learn about certain disease and medicaons. As a pharmacist, it is our passion to en- sure paents understand and appreciate how their drug works in their disease state. We movated them by explaining the importance of adherence to their medicaons. By doing so, we hoped that proper understanding will debunk their miscon- cepons about drug side effects and eliminate their fear to take the medicaons. Quit Smoking clinic was one of the most popular and frequently visited booth. We provided risk assessment score tests and spent me to explain the underated benefits of quing, and the grievous harms of smoking. Many of them looked movated to join the quit smoking programme in which we directed them to visit the nearest Klinik Kesihatan for free nico- ne replacement drugs. We were very glad and honoured to parcipate in this programme. Last but not least thanks to the organizer and Prof Dato’ Zulkifli Zainuddin for inving the Pharmacy Team to parcipate in this life changing event. On 11th August 2017, PPUKM in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine organized a Health For Malaysia Programme

in Besut, Terengganu. Aimed to narrow the gap between public and healthcare practitioners, the team aspire to improve

health literacy and improve health awareness. This was the first time we had the priviledge to be involved in this Pro-

gramme.

The event started early on a fresh and breezy Saturday morning, providing free medical check-ups, blood tests, eye

check-up, Women & Men health check-up, Emergency Rescue training and free consultation. Pharmacy offered disease and

medication counselling , as well as promoted the importance of quit smoking and the quit smoking services offered by Certi-

fied Centres and Pharmacists nationwide.

The public were very eager to learn about certain disease and medications. As a pharmacist, it is our passion to en-

sure patients understand and appreciate how their drug works in their disease state. We motivated them by explaining the

importance of adherence to their medications. By doing so, we hoped that proper understanding will debunk their miscon-

ceptions about drug side effects and eliminate their fear to take the medications.

Quit Smoking clinic was one of the most popular and frequently visited booth. We provided risk assessment score

tests and spent time to explain the underated benefits of quitting, and the grievous harms of smoking. Many of them looked

motivated to join the quit smoking programme in which we directed them to visit the nearest Klinik Kesihatan for free nico-

tine replacement drugs.

We were very glad and honoured to participate in this programme. Last but not least thanks to the organizer and

Prof Dato’ Zulkifli Zainuddin for inviting the Pharmacy Team to participate in this life changing event.
