Client Requirements
Client is a large hospital system on the East Coast that provides comprehensive healthcare, with over 1800 physicians on staff. Client wanted to create a customized, secure patient forms solution for information exchange between patients and physicians / nurses. Client also wanted to support workflows for physicians / nurses so that the data from patients can be updated to a unified platform.
CitiusTech was selected to design and develop a secure forms solution based on Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Amalga that would enable the client to manage patient information more effectively and thus help improve quality of care.
CitiusTech Solution CitiusTech was responsible for the end-to-end design, development, integration and testing of the solution.
Design and DevelopmentCitiusTech designed the overall solution using features provided by SharePoint. The key objectives for using SharePoint were:
• Enhanced customer experience with faster and more efficient workflows
• Improved data accuracy• Easy storage and retrieval of forms data for future use
Case Study: Secure Patient Forms Solution using SharePoint
• Consistent end user experience across various providers
CitiusTech team used SharePoint to develop customizable forms using InfoPath, to develop workflows for physicians/ nurses by receiving patient submitted forms in appropriate lists and leveraging the SharePoint document library to save and audit patient data. The solution also leveraged the client’s existing investments in other Microsoft solutions:
• Microsoft Amalga: To look up patient information from SharePoint and update data at the end of the workflow
• Microsoft HealthVault: To manage and selectively share patient-owned data and leverage the security infrastructure of HealthVault

• Leverage features provided by SharePoint to develop and deploy an enterprise-class solution within a very short delivery timeframe
