Highlights this week have been from Year 2 Polar Bears who delivered not only a stunning industrial city inspired by Lowry, but added plasticine people into this vibrant installation. Year 3 Sea turtles (in addition to their stunning Christmas illustrative card designs) also couldn't resist adding some more plasticine people in! Year 4 Tigers fancied themselves as Egyptian pharaohs (or possibly wise men?!), and produced delicate headdresses created from collage of patterned paper and fabric scraps! They are now gracing the art room walls, as well as their stunning portraits all framed on display on the stair case leading to their classrooms! Such rich and powerful work, they should feel very proud! Year 5 have their entries in for the Farmvention competition, titled "Wool The Wonder Fabric" and we are so excited to see whether they get chosen as finalists to showcase their work at the Houses of Parliament! And to finish off the season, Year 1 Rhinos and Year 6 also created the most sensational illustrative Christmas card designs, of which on show are designs by Eva, Spencer, Artur and Verity in Year 6 Orangutans. I wish you all a very peaceful and joyful holidays. Ms Davies :-) That’s a Wrap! We have finally made it to end of a very long term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff who work so hard to make this such a special place for our children to come to every day. I feel very privileged to work with such a dedicated and talented team. We are very grateful for all of the time and support that our parents and friends of Heber have given us this year. Any time, support and encouragement from parents that we receive is so appreciated. The P&F are off to a very strong start in helping us to achieve our aim of creating a computing suite for our children to benefit from over the coming years. Our staff have already been working on their plans for an exciting term ahead. We look forward to welcoming you all back on 7 th January. Until then, have a happy and restful break. This Week in the Art Room

What a fabulously final creative week for the Autumn term. Highlights this week have been from Year 2 Polar Bears who

delivered not only a stunning industrial city inspired by Lowry, but added plasticine people into this vibrant installation. Year 3

Sea turtles (in addition to their stunning Christmas illustrative card designs) also couldn't resist adding some more plasticine

people in! Year 4 Tigers fancied themselves as Egyptian pharaohs (or possibly wise men?!), and produced delicate

headdresses created from collage of patterned paper and fabric scraps! They are now gracing the art room walls, as well as

their stunning portraits all framed on display on the stair case leading to their classrooms! Such rich and powerful work, they

should feel very proud! Year 5 have their entries in for the Farmvention competition, titled "Wool The Wonder Fabric" and we are

so excited to see whether they get chosen as finalists to showcase their work at the Houses of Parliament! And to finish off the

season, Year 1 Rhinos and Year 6 also created the most sensational illustrative Christmas card designs, of which on show are

designs by Eva, Spencer, Artur and Verity in Year 6 Orangutans. I wish you all a very peaceful and joyful holidays. Ms Davies :-)

That’s a Wrap!

We have finally made it to end of a very long term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff who work so hard

to make this such a special place for our children to come to every day. I feel very privileged to work with such a dedicated and

talented team.

We are very grateful for all of the time and support that our parents and friends of Heber have given us this year. Any time,

support and encouragement from parents that we receive is so appreciated. The P&F are off to a very strong start in helping us

to achieve our aim of creating a computing suite for our children to benefit from over the coming years.

Our staff have already been working on their plans for an exciting term ahead. We look forward to welcoming you all back on 7th

January. Until then, have a happy and restful break.

Christmas Box Appeal

We were absolutely blown away by the generous donations that we received for our Christmas box appeal. Thank you to Tiffany

Cole (mum of Jack and Thomas) for approaching us with the idea. Tiffany took the presents to the Lordship Lane Baptist Church

on Monday, where they were given out to local families in need and there were still some left over. Tiffany was able to deliver the

excess gifts to Barry House so that new families arriving before Christmas will have some waiting there for them.

Weekly Music Awards

The following awards were announced in our weekly Merit Assembly.

Key Stage 1: With a song always in his heart and an ear for music, Thomas in 1L is our Key Stage 1 music star of the week

this week. His dedication to singing back our songs and engaging in his Year 1 music learning activities has gone from strength

to strength. Keep up the progress, Thomas!

Lower Key Stage 2: Nathaniel Daniels in 4S blew us away with a note-perfect rendition of Mamma Mia this week. In particular,

his timing showed remarkable control and accuracy, which reflects his huge progress. He worked hard all lesson, and his

performance was a real treat for the end of the term. Excellent job, Nathaniel.

Upper Key Stage 2: It takes an audience to make a performance, and today we celebrate a fantastic audience indeed. After

their engagement during the maiden performance from the Justin Heber band, Farah, Talah, Daisy, Isobel, Freya and Eva from

6K (and ex-pupil and Eva’s sister Polly as well) have all earned the Upper Key Stage 2 music award. The energy, enthusiasm,

and love for music shown by these girls during the Heber Christmas Fair was incredible. Thanks girls!

A Message from Mr. Treen

Christmas has truly arrived! After that fantastic effort by Key Stage 1, it seemed we couldn’t get any more Christmassy.

However, with the Key Stage 2 teachers at the helm, the older Heber children did us proud once again. Our Year 5 and Year 6

children worked so hard on the songs for their play, and with so many solo performances and harmonies sung to the audience;

we couldn’t have been more thrilled with the musical outcome. When it comes to Year 3 and Year 4, we cannot overlook the

instrumental input of the children, as well as their angelic singing. Several children approached me about performing

instrumentally in the performance, and I was so pleased with the feedback about these energetic musicians and their efforts.

With a multitude of instrumental skills being displayed, it has been a fittingly strong end to the year in music at Heber.

Christmas Fair Fundraising Update

Thank you to everyone who visited our Christmas fair last Sunday. We

hope you and your family had a great time.

The stunning Santa’s grotto, the raffle drawing suspense and fun games

offered great family entertainment. As a major focal point this year, the

main hall really brought people together around food, drinks, a tombola

and live music! ‘Justin Heber’, a band consisting of teachers and parents

rocked the hall with their first-ever performance.

Thanks to the many visitors who generously supported the event the fair

has raised £7,090. This is almost the double than last year’s fair. And this

is the amount before matched fundraising. We will give you another

update in January, letting you know how much money we raised in total.
