January 2014 HERALD SUITES Official Newsletter Message from the President As we enter the last quarter of the year, we are once again filled with much anticipation for the coming Yuletide Season. It is a season that we associate with joy, thanksgiving, and HOPE. But recent events have left many countrymen bereft of all the things that we all cherish every Christmas. Many have lost family, friends, livelihoods and Hope as a consequence of the typhoon that caused unprecedented damage to the Visayas. For all of us who are so lucky to have been spared the wrath of Yolanda, we look at this coming Yuletide season as a chance to bring Hope to those who despair, Food to those who are hungry and Shelter to those who have lost their homes. It is a time to give thanks for all the blessings that we often take for granted and to realize that we can make such a big difference in the lives of others by the individual actions that we choose to take. I commend everyone for their most generous gesture of foregoing our Christmas celebration and donating instead the proceeds to the relief operations of the Philippine National Red Cross for the Typhoon Yolanda victims. Such selfless acts of sharing embody the true spirit of Christmas. The year however, will not be complete without recognizing those who have remained stead- fast and loyal to our organization. This year marks the largest number of awardees to date and it is heartening to know that our Herald family is growing. We give thanks and apprecia- tion to all for all the years of service. It is also our privilege to be able to partner with Punlaan School in providing scholarships to underprivileged but deserving young women. Now on its 14th year, we have witnessed the triumphs of many of our scholars, some of whom are now part of our Herald Family. Our commitment to helping others will always be a cornerstone of what it means to be a Herald Associate and hopefully by doing so we can foster a sense of Peace and Hope to everyone this 2014. Happy New Year.” -Dars Padilla
