Classes of Difficulty
A, B, C, D
1, 2, 3, 4
Class A
Up to 8 miles round-trip
Experience not necessary.
Walking on a relatively flat trail.
Little to no chance of injury.
Class B
Up to 12 miles
Slightly strenuous
Experience beneficial
Trails may have a slight incline.
Use of hands may be necessary
Class C
Up to 15 miles
Very strenuous
Experience recommended
Use of hands necessary
Some exposure but nothing lethal.
Class D
Over 15 miles
Very strenuous
Experience and training highly recommended
Steep terrain
High exposure
A fall could be fatal
Subclasses
